That's not too surprising, since the Naruto Nation event is over (3 volumes per month) and the volumes will be coming out bi-monthly for now on.

Wow, VK holds on for a really long time doesn't it? If it keeps doing that well I really don't know why Viz hasn't licensed the anime yet. And I'm happy to see how high FMA is on the list, go alchemy!

Viz hasn't licensed any new anime in god know's how long. Which reminds me, they still need to license Gintama!

They've actually shown sub clips of Vampire Knight at conventions so they might be close

Before Viz gets any new anime they need to put out Hayate the Combat Butler

I would hate to see Funi get season twos rights, and dub it over faster then Viz.

I didn't know Negima! V22 was out, I thought they where on volume 21 O_o I need to find some cash now, volume 22 starts my fav ark.

Do you mean the manga or the anime? Bandai Ent. has the first season of the anime, and they are releasing the first volume in July sub-only.

Not a surprise considering the list that it is.

I'd like to see Gintama on DVD, but that's a show where if you handle it incorrectly, it's not going to be funny, and it's not going to be fun. Sadly, it is the type of show that at some points does need excessive TL notes, but not to the point of exasperation, you kind of need them to understand what's going on. Localization on the dub might fix that problem, but that's all up to the writers.

The other problem with Viz seems to be how slowly they release their shows. It's not like all the people who might be interesting are diehard fans on that series, they might have a passing interest in the wake of the airing in Japan, but unless it's a powerhouse show, the discourse and fandom of it will probably start to wane after a while of nothing. I guess it depends on how big the manga gets.

Well as I die hard fan myself I would just be happy if anyone licensed it. I wouldn't care if the dub sucked as long as I was able to watch the subtitles as well on the dvd.

I thought Viz owns the right as they said that some one go the anime rights in one of the volumes of the manga

I'd rather Funimation get Gintama, their comedic dubs are better IMHO, and with Viz, I'd be too worried they would only release part of Gintama instead of the whole release.

Also, would the dub really be that hard? Viz' manga translations have been easy to understand and hilarious, unless the anime offers vastly different comedy, it shouldn't be that difficult. I mean, come on, some of the humor is meant to appeal to certain people, for example, you either know what Shonen Jump is or you don't.

ninjapet: Bandai definitely has the Hayate the Combat Butler anime, they've already got a release date for Part 1.
