Wow, crazy lineup this year; first 00, and now Gurren Lagann. I wish I could go.
Also, I wonder if the new Gainax project will have been announced by then, or if it will be unveiled at AX? A lot of relevant people are going to be there, after all.

Until they decide to cancel his appearance due to Japanese overreaction at a slightly stronger strain of flu. Who's willing to make bets?

10:1 odds against that happening! The Japanese will pull out of some BS Con in South Carolina, but they won't pull out of AX!

These are like the only two members of the production staff I haven't met.
Yet another reason to go.

I wish I was a press member. I want to pick their brains on creative process of Gurren Lagann. I really want to ask any fascinating story behind Gurren Lagann production.
I found out that Nishigori did direction, storyboard, and animation supervision for that magical girl parody, "Ririkyua Miracle", from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei 2nd series. (source: Animation Note:Vol. 12 Winter 2009). If I was there, I would like to know what went through on his mind when he directed that parody.
I know that Imaishi is really crazy animation talent, I wonder what is he like in person.

I wonder if they'll be screening Lagann-hen... They always screen their new projects when they're invited to Germany's Connichi.

BUT WAIT...GURREN-hen hasn't been screened over here OFFICIALLY yet...maybe they'll do a whole 4-1/2 hour presentation of BOTH movies??? It could only happen at AX!

Depends on your definition of "officially". It was screened this past weekend at Fanime with Yamaga-san (President of GAINAX) in attendance.

It'd be cool, but Gurren-hen probably won't be worth be the time as much as Lagann-hen. It was pretty much Clip Slow: The Movie except for the last 15-20 minutes, and I hear Lagann-hen will actually have much more new animation.
The real point to these recap movies is so you see them in theaters (large screens, full surround-sound) with other people, or I guess at cons too assuming they have good enough equipment. That way, while it's pretty much what you've seen before, you see it in a new fashion. If you watch it on the same exact set-up that you watched the show, it'll probably be disappointing.
