Seems I misread the article. Still with how bad DB: Evolution was, trusting Fox to do a live-action adaptation of a hit manga like Parakiss is kind of risky.

Let's not forget how Warner Brothers did with Speed Racer.

It's non fantasy based so they could pull it off. The core audience for this one is in Japan as its a Japanese language version.
Makes you wonder which fashion designer(s) is getting called in for this one.

I guess...
I mean, not much to say here.....
Please don't ruin it?
P.S. Oh, one more thing, Paradise Kiss? Damn never saw that one comin'. I really enjoyed the anime, and it doesn't seem like something that will be too difficult to adapt to live-action.

I'll remain cautiously optimistic with this, but it does seem like something they shouldn't have too much trouble adapting. Who knows maybe they learned a lesson from DB:E.

I don't see what the big deal is.
Paradise Kiss can actually be a good live-action.
And please don't bring up DBE anymore. One bad egg won't ruin the rest.

Maybe I read the article wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is in talks to be a Japanese movie, not an American one.

Yes, it was an O.K. movie but I head it didn't do too hot in the box office, and Warner Brothers spent a ton of money on making it too... such a shame, WB had such high hopes for Speed Racer too... I mean with poor marketing and low sales I would expect that.

Not really fond of the manga anyway, since it lives to piss me off more than anything else. Everything people are supposed to hate about Hot Gimmick is what applies to PK. Ironically, though, I enjoyed the characters' "cameos" in the bonus Nana stories. I'm actually surprised Japan didn't do an LA Neighborhood Story yet, though. No real point to a LA PK, though, since that would basically be an R-rated Clueless meets Empire Records.
