I haven't started watching the show yet, but I might do it on Hulu.
Funimation's stream's quality is absolutely terrible.

As much as I prefer Hulu too, I consider Funimation's to be vastly superior to, say, Crunchyroll's, where you have to pay to get anything that doesn't look like complete crap.

Please explain. Funimation has superior quality vs. youtube and most other anime on hulu. Example, Naruto looks worse on hulu vs. using Crunchy rolls different settings on watching it. Crunchy roll and Funimation has very good quality for steaming. Though I admit that at first it took forever to download a episode off of Funimation, but now it seems to be pretty fast and that they fixed the issue with that. I don't know, it might be due to the different internet speeds everyone uses, because there are quite a few to choose and use from.

The video and audio quality doesn't seem that different to me, but it streams a whole lot faster, and that's a plus. Kudos for Hulu.

nice to know. now I'll maybe give it a try. I had tried watching the first ep on FUNi's website, but for some reason the ep always loads extra slow on both my computers even with my download speeds going breakneck speed on everything else I stream or download.

Yeah, I don't think Funimation was fulling prepared for how their bandwidth was going to get bombarded by streaming FMA...

I guess no one here watches in full screen?
Also, since I pay for Crunchyroll, I'd much rather be getting a 720p stream over there, but that's beside the point...

Hulu's FMA Brotherhood is clearly higher quality than Funimation's, with less compression noise and considerably better framerate.
I'm not as sure about any resolution difference. Oddly enough, the two Hulu modes (360p and 480p) seem to be slightly different aspect ratios, with the screen slightly compressed vertically in 480p mode.
Hulu's player hides the controls in full-screen mode after a couple of seconds (like Crunchyroll and Youtube), filling the entire screen on a 16:9 monitor, whereas Funimation reserves a permanent spot at the bottom for the control bar, which leaves some space on the left and right side of the screen since the video doesn't get to expand all the way.
Of course, given the delay, I'm sure most people will still be catching it on Funimation first, myself included.

Yeah, it'd be nice. The video quality of some of the new stuff on there (Hayate especially) is really looking good.
Of course, if I really wind up liking FMA2 that much, I'll just pick up the Blu-rays anyway.

Well since im a fan of HULU i will be checking it out there for sure then. I already have new shows i watch on a weekly basis there so I am very happy about this. Makes it a lot easier for me personally. Yes the torrents are better quality but not by all that much and i am willing to support Funi for doing this. Great news to hear.

It's blocked for me anyway, so long life to fansubs!
I wish the Japanese FMA:B DVDs and Blu-Ray had English subs, to...

Ah, I didn't realize that, since I watch it on a 4:3 monitor.

Look into some ISP maskers, perhaps. Otherwise, just please don't keep or distribute those fansubs once the product become available in your area.

Thats great news, but I really wish it wasn't a two week wait. Fansubbers have it out 24 hours after it broadcast in Japan, Funimation gets it 6 days after fansubbers, then Hulu gets it 7 days after Funimation.
That's so stupid to me. Funi can get Phantom out before fansubbers so why the super huge delay for a series thats way more popular and likely to be pirated far worse?

I myself don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Especially when it's the only gift horse I can get.
