Yet another reason why this bullshit war on drugs must end.
If the police are generals in the war on drugs, then the government must surrender immediately. Has the government (Any government, anywhere) NOT learned anything from what happened here in the States during Prohibition?

He was taking roids to enhance his brain. Seriously though how we as a society continue like this? How much more does it have to take to take someone like this down, and shed the image of light on those who follow them.

Wow, I'm SO shocked, an artist taking drugs?
Honestly, I don't know what to say when I read such a news, if all artists doing drugs were to be arrested in the Western world, I guess entertainment wouldn't exist anymore...

Why was he being tested in the first place? The article states that he failed a drug test at the end of last month. So it wasn't like he was picked up in a drug sweep or for making a buy from undercover police.

What a waste of police manpower. I wonder how many murders, rapists, child molesters, thieves and real criminals could have been caught instead of harassing some guy enjoying something in the comfort and privacy of his own home.

Word to The_Libertarian_Otaku and Mr. sickVisionz. Hardcore drugs are terrible, but I dunno, I have a feeling he was busted for something silly like marijuana.

Not to turn this forum into some anti-drug ad, but many times drugs are the source of those "real crimes" you mentioned

Uh, no. Drugs don't cause crimes. PEOPLE do.
When you outlaw a product or service, you create a black market for it. With black markets comes crime, because you take perfectly good, honest citizens who work hard, pay taxes, vote, raise families, and live their lives as they see fit and turn them into criminals when they obtain that which would otherwise be legal. You also get a rise in violent crime, because violence is the only way to settle disputes in a black market.
If you outlaw drugs, only outlaws have drugs. You outlaw guns, only outlaws have guns. Outlaw anime and I have to buy my Marmalade Boy DVDs from the Mob, and you have to buy your precious Code Geass DVDs from the Triads. Banning a product or service will NOT stop people from obtaining or using it.

To a point I understand that, but if you allow something like drug use to go unchecked it can be even more dangerous, just look at china in the 20's and 30's. If China didn't take some steps(yes they went way to far) there's no way they would be as productive as they are now, and I bet the quality of life would be worse for many.
And btw I don't like Code Geass or any other clamp productions for that matter.

He was arrested "for allegedly using illegal stimulants."(from the article). However I don't think the police were investigating him or doing a drug sweep or even busting him for a buy.
The article also says he failed a drug test. I have no idea why he was taking the test but he failed it and is now facing charges.

That's why you regulate drugs with respect to quality, dosage, etc., to ensure that people don't get sick or die from contamination or overdose. Look at Prohibition--you had people getting fucked up and dying from drinking improperly made bathtub liquor. After the 18th Amendment was repealed, the knowledge of liquor safety came back and you had booze being made the right way again (Save for some moonshiners who still wanted to make illegal booze to avoid paying the liquor taxes, who would then go on to invent the Non-Athletic Sport Centered Around Rednecks).
I wasn't insinuating that you liked any of CLAMP's productions. It's just for perspective.
