It means there's still hope for a regular anime magazine in US, I guess..

When I was down at FYE this past Sunday for their anime event (picked up Giant Robo collection and School Rumble manga vol. 4 on sale), they had a copy. It had 12 cool posters (IIRC Code Geass, Clannad, Princess Resurrection, and I can't remember the rest), and while I was tempted, I didn't have the money at the time. I'll probably pick it up Friday though once I get my paycheck.
But yeah, it becoming a regular magazine would be highly welcome.

I was at an FYE affiliated Sam Goody but I didn't see this magazine. Of course, I wasn't looking for mags so I'll have to check out there again and see if a copy might be lurking.
It would be great if we can get another regular anime magazine back out. Seeing Newtype and now Anime Insider go really hurt since I bought both. (Newtype for the more Japanese side focus and insider for the more R1/US focus.) It would be great if former Newtype and Insider staff could be recruited to work on this new magazine as a regular monthly release. (If sales were good for the first issue and if they remain good for the second, it could happen.)

Nice. I'll definitely be following up from the first issue.
Maybe if number 2 ends up being enough of a success, FA will start publishing in a larger, quarterly format? It might make more sense in the current economic climate, and reading bigger volumes would be enjoyable in my opinion.

Ooo, interesting. ^^ Hopefully I'll be able to find it soon myself because I'd love to be able to purchase this. Any anime magazine is awesome for me, especially with lunches where I constantly need something to read and such, and I just love collecting them as well.
Besides, if there are posters of Clannad, Princess Resurrection, and Code Geass in there, I so want them for my wall. I doubt I'll be getting a wall shelf anytime soon, so I'd love to collect more posters (that, and I'm starting to get a little tired of all the Naruto posters I do have; time to break it up a bit!). ^^

Wow, this is a surprise!
I was never able to get the first one because I couldn't find it, so I'll def. have to track this one down, as it would be great to have another US anime mag (I've been feeling empty inside ever since we lost Newtype).
Plus, 12 posters, it's Megami lite!

Code Geass and Clannad? Sold! I really hopes this magazine does become monthly, Otaku USA is the only anime magazine I can buy now.

Future have published a couple of anime specials as a spinoff of SFX magazine here in the UK, but it never became anything regular.

I just saw it on the shelves today. I bought it. Besides the posters. Its pretty thin. Its more like a Poster Magazine. The layout and review style are short like when Newtype USA had ones for new series that haven't made it over yet. Lets see how everything goes. It had seven advertisements. Most of them gaming which makes sense as they publish a gaming magazine.

Are the posters decent (especially the Clannad one)?
Also, what store did you find it? (please be Borders)
What did you think of the articles?

I didn't look too carefully at the posters (they're set one on top of the other as the magazine is stapled), but the Clannad poster looked as if it was too closely cropped leaving the characters to the side slightly cut off. Maybe it's the way the original image is; I don't recall where I've seen the image used on the poster, and I don't remember it that clearly. The posters are only a two-page spread on stiffer, glossier paper. I didn't see what the publication was priced at, but it would have to be _really_ cheap to make me thing that it's worth a purchase.
