I know this is suppose to be funny, but this strip hits a little to close to home. I feel for you Kevin. |

This thread lasted a whole 12 posts before coolwHip was given a mention. Is this 'Cool Whip' any good? Does it complement a sweet as well as dairy products? |

The fatal flaw in Nina's logic: the overwhelming majority of attendees at anime conventions are by and large underage and therefore out of the running among the 20s-30s bracket that our Audience Identification Character finds himself in. The rather minuscule percentage of non-jailbait women present at the anime convention who are also single then find themselves in the same position that all such individuals would find themselves in for any fandom: what Triumph the Insult Comic Dog would refer to as the option of being able to "choose from all kinds of guys around you who have no idea how to please you!"
The author now has two choices: introduce another character for our Audience Identification Character to become involved with, thus changing the tone of the comic and necessitating the creation of a new Audience Identification Character, or keep everything as it stands. I think the second option is better because the unstated moral of this series of strips will then be "accept that yours is the path of otaku meifumado." |

Yeah Kevin, alienating the only member of the opposite sex that appreciates you is a good way to pass your love life blues, what he needs is to prove that Guts, courage and passion can overcome anything to reach he ultimate otaku nirvana, with a great job, a nice girl and a rocking soundtrack by JAM Project, either that or end up in a con with a pasty panty flashing goth loli punk girl that thinks that she's a 1000 year old vampire but looks like a middle--schooler (*YUCK!*)
PS: Funny Strip by the way! Last edited by Vicserr on Wed Apr 01, 2009 9:57 am; edited 1 time in total |

That's going a bit overboard. Seriously. Great comic though Robin, but I thought Myoopi ate rice? Great job though Robin, thanks for the humorious work. |

Which probably explains why I chuckled at the thought. I'm pretty immature (he added unnecessarily). |

wHat? (yay Family Guy!) While I think it's important to bond over a few shared hobbies, it's also important to have those emotional connections, as well. I'm going to facepalm right now because I can only make a reference to anime, but if anybody's seen Genshiken, the character Kohsaka is a major otaku, ignore the quote, it's just in a dream sequence, and has a good looking girlfriend, Saki. Saki is in no way an otaku, and only becomes a casual reader of manga about halfway through the series, yet they still bond and after 3 years are still together. The thing about anime is that everybody can find at least one that they like. Sports, though, are just plain boring to watch. |

Nah, Myoopi always ate "Kewl Whip." Nina can be seen opening a tub of the stuff pretty often (like, 2 strips ago), but it was usually shown pretty small, so it wasn't always clear what it was.
