Akira TAKEUCHI has no less than 17 staff entries, most of them for Animation Director, one of them being Magic Knight Rayearth.
His name in Kanji is given as 武内 (Takeuchi) 啓 (Akira), but no source is provided for this information, and there's no Japanese Wikipedia page for this name (but a page for 武内啓 at Allcinema).

Now I happened to stumble over a person named 竹内 (Takeuchi) 昭 (Akira), born 1961-07-01. This person has a Japanese Wikipedia page for 竹内昭 where he is credited for about 20 animes as animator, but only Magic Knight Rayearth from the ones already known to ANN (so this assignment may actually be wrong in ANN).

If I got that right then the Wikipedia page explicitly says this is not the same person as 武内啓, they just both happen to be animators.

How do I enter data for this person? I can't enter "Akira TAKEUCHI" (because that would refer to 武内啓), and I can't enter "竹内昭" either (because there's no person that I could assign these Kanji to).
I could of course invent a name such as "Akira TAKEUCHI (2)" or whatnot, but I guess I'd better ask before doing anything like that...

We can split this person into 2, but before that we should establish which roles belong together. Using the pages you gave I could only confirm the following:

Also we need to come up with a way to differentiate the names. Usually it's easy because the two persons have different jobs, like Atsuko Tanaka (seiyuu) and Atsuko Tanaka (animator). But in this case they are both animators and have worked during the same period, so it's a little trickier. Akira Takeuchi (武内) and Akira Takeuchi (竹内) would be the obvious choice but this would be very opaque to the many non-Japanese readers on the site.

I'm fine with whatever name you suggest, especially with the version that includes the Kanji (and might at least make aware people who try to add data for one of them that's a tricky thing to do, as the Roumaji name from an English source alone will not suffice; mere users can always just click on that name to get a list of credits for that person without caring too much about the exact spelling of the name, that's what the splitting of the person will give them anyway).

By pure coincidence I arrived at this thread with the same problem as Devil Doll.

This page states 竹内昭 as one of the Key Animators for Magical Girl Pretty Sammy.

This page states 竹内旭 (Asahi Takeuchi) as both a Key Animator and 2nd Key Animator for Ouran High School Host Club. I couldn't find 竹内昭 or 竹内啓 on the same page so there is a possibility that the contributor has made a mistake there.

Can't help with the one for Madara.

A bunch of credits have been added to Akira Takeuchi since the last time (and some deleted!) I think I managed to clarify which credits belongs to which Akira Takeuchi in the table below, but a few things still need to be resolved.
- 武内あきら credit for Azuki-chan; I'll assume that's 武内啓
- a bunch of credits for 竹内旭; shouldn't that be Asahi Takeuchi?
- 武内昭 for Agent Aika; did they mean 武内啓 or 竹内昭 or a different person?
- can't confirm Variable Geo

Scouring YouTube, I managed to get some confirmation on Variable Geo with some Japanese ending credits for episode 2 (from some fansub seemingly). It's 竹内昭

Great! And the Soul Eater credits belong to 竹内旭, and Aika to 武内啓. So I've finally be able to perform the split

The differentiation is likely to be confusing to many people, but I don't see any way around that.

When you write a post there's a BBCode link. The only tags missing from that page are the custom ANN BBCode tags: [spoiler] and [table]
