Is the uppercase "L" in World intentional?

Yes! Certainly took Viz long enough to bring us Monster.

While I've heard negative things said about the video quality on Viz DVD releases (I don't think I've ever actually seen one myself, everything I own is by Bandai, Geneon, or Funimation), as an Urasawa Naoki fan, I'm really glad to see this get licensed. Got to start saving up to buy it, though; at 74 episodes, that's going to be a lot of DVDs. Hopefully Viz will give it the same royal treatment they've given the manga.

Too bad they didn't bring this out earlier. I'm at the point now where I'm pretty much committed to Blu-ray. Unless Monster is getting a simultaneous BD release, I doubt I'll be touching it anytime soon.

I swear to God viz, you better give me Monster in seasoned sets and not in single volumes at $30 a pop.

If the show wasn't made in HD, is there really that much difference between Blu-Ray and upscaled DVD?

"Seasoned" sets? "When cooking Monster DVD sets, be sure to use a little thyme and parsley to bring out the full flavor."

They're certainly not that bad. At least not the recent ones. The biggest complaint about them that I've heard is the green tint on the Death Note DVDs, which I don't even notice and which there's plenty of in the original JP version.

As for the news concerning Monster, I'll believe it when the DVDs are in my hands. Maybe not even then.

Though, I'm happy that Viz said that they're looking for ways to release some of their unreleased series. But I'm not getting my hopes up too much.

If the Monster anime's anywhere near as good as the manga this will be a definite buy for me. Very Happy

OMG this made my day! Granted, I knew Viz would announce the L Change the World movie eventually, but now I'm excited!

Also, Shepperoni, that's too creepy that I'm posting right after you and we're from the same town. Shocked

I'll never get Zoids Genesis from this company before I die.

Also, L Change The WorLd shouldn't be a surprise, the DVD release of the second movie (street date was last Tuesday) had an insert saying L Change The World in Summer 2009, and had a horrific trailer on the Last Name's DVD...

Ah, it's great to see some news about the Monster anime.
I heard they were announcing stuff about it at cons, but that was it.
I'm kind of hoping it's released with more than 4 episodes per DVD though, because it's pretty long and I'd like it to have a release style similar to the way Funi's been doing their anime.
I've never bought any anime by Viz though, so I don't really know anything about their release methods.
