Hello,
I've watched the Chrno Crusade Anime up to about ep 15 or so. While I like the characters (how can you not like them) and the story seems interesting, I'm not sure I like the directing and so on. I suspect that the Manga is a much better of taking in the story and artwork, so I dropped the Anime as to not be spoiled. Is there anyone here that has seen and read both, and would give their opinions on this? Thanks |

I've read about 4 volumes of the manga, and seen up to ep 16 of the anime, and the manga is much better. The story is more detailed, and like what happens when most manga get turned into an anime, they're jump around the time line of the manga, and they remove and add their own things. I suggest the manga over the anime.

Aye, true. One of the exceptions; I liked what what was done to GiTS. The sequences in the movie, wether taken right out of the manga or just inspired by it, were weaved together in a way that made the essence of GiTS come through, and managed to make a captivating movie as well. Imho. 
I heard ADV got the rights for the Chrno manga. Stupid ketoujin as I am, I'll have to wait for their releases to read the manga. (Hopefully they and their translators will do a good job, how have their previous releases been received by the community?) |

Oi, people are going to start telling me to shut up about this soon, but they just bought a lot of unknown manga titles, and a number of those are sequal titles they don't own the first manga to. They're going ahead and releasing the sequals. I can rant on about this, but nah. |

Well, at least it's not the end of the world here that ADV has done this. Apparently (based on what a friend of mine who I spoke with in the industry) the problem with the original manga is that you now have to go through the original manga authors to contract licenses.
Littlegreenwolf, it would be best if you don't start turning into Asaqe here on us. Let it rest, there really is only so much that ADV can do, and you can be absolutely certain that some of these unknown titles came as package deals. It comes down to... "You wanna get the rights to these three manga? You have to pay this much and take these other titles as well."
ADV's response? They'll find a way to market it, just like everything else. As far as the Chrno Crusade manga coming out? I'm looking forward to finally be able to enjoy it. That's definetly going on my purchase list. Since the original manga is usually better than the anime, I still would have bought it even without others telling me how much better it actually is. |

*points at téknolàized* He asked! I kept it nice and short this time! I'm TRYING not to get too worked up over it anymore, it's just, oi, they're messing with one of my favorite manga. Fangirl rage coming through, and all that not so nice stuff. I'll just try and shut up, and not say anything more about it, and go back to slowly translating what ADV isn't buying. |

Heh sorry, didn't know there was a lot of bad blood about this issue.
Well then looking forward to the Chrno Crusade release, also eagerly awaiting the third Hellsing TPB, heh. Cheers folks |
