No, i'm not starting another rant, i'm over it.
I just wanted to know how Dr Pepper can be considered the largest producers of non-cola soft drinks if they make RC Cola? Or was that simply saying that their non-cola products are the largest while their cola product isn't. Hmm... maybe i am just misunderstanding what it was saying
Quote: | and the largest producer of non-cola soft drinks in North America. The company's leading brands include, 7 UP, Sunkist, A&W Root Beer, Canada Dry, Sunkist, Squirt, Hawaiian Punch and Schweppes, as well as the RC Cola an Slush Puppie brands. |
P.S.
Sunkist is listed twice

I'd say it's very clear that they simply mean that when it comes to the non-cola brands, they hold the lion's share.
Considering how well known the 7up and A&W brands are, not to mention the Canada Dry, this doesn't surprise me at all. While there are some forms of competition out there, many may seem like generic versions of these counterparts. Save perhaps Sprite and many different incarnations of root beer out there.
After all, how many different manufacturers out there can you think of when it comes to Lemon Lime sodas and Ginger Ale?

I'm sure Moutain Dew/Code Red/Live Wire is up there (althougth i guess you can't really classify that as lemon-lime). I also thought Surge was a very good soda, too bad it's no longer around.
Truthfully, i'm slightly surprised that Dr Pepper was doing so well. But now that i think of all the reader surveys that asked about what your favorite soft drink is, i guess i knew something like this was coming along.

Heh, I can see myself now collecting Dr. Pepper cans if they decide to put certain shonen-jump characters on them at one point. I want a Kakashi can! ... and I don't know why. T.T I will hate them if they call out my horrible pack rat self and make me collect something like that.

How long did it take them to come up with that one. Be Manga. That'll work for those teens that already have the attention span of fruitfly.

More intriguing than "Be Manga" is "Be a Pepper"....
And how can you "Be You" if you're a peppery manga.....

Now according to the newsletter i got from Shonen Jump, the slogan is
Quote: | 'Be You, Be Dr Pepper, Be Manga' Art Contest! |

It says "Be a Pepper" (which is in the press release) which is a throwback to their slogan from the 1970's and 1980's: "I'm a Pepper, You're a Pepper, Wouldn't You Like to Be a Pepper, Too?"
I've been seeing it pop up more frequently recently. ^^
I wonder how this promotion thing is going to pan out....
