I know some of you anime fans watch Sonic X and StH OVA Series. But, have some of you anime fans ever watch this StH cartoon call: Sonic SatAM? It's not anime, but it's related to the video games, but the story is really good, it's likeable then the video games and the other Sonic anime shows. Check out this site and remember this:

www.satamsonic.com/

What is your comment about SatAM? Or you can say something else about Sonic X and Sonic OVA Series.

To me, I enjoy the Sonic OVA Series (Also know as Sonic: The Movie in America) I give it a good rating. But Sonic X... I give it a so-so rating, dislike the story.

Where have you been all these years? SatAm Sonic is a classic to many of us! The Archie Comics version of Sonic still draws from that universe, too.

Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog will always be the only Sonic cartoon for me. Well, that's the one that was always on in my youth, so it's the one I generally equate with Sonic. And it's still on telly these days, on the Pop! channel, along with the Super Mario Bros. 3 and World cartoons. (It's the one with the "Sonic says" segments, that uses the In the Hall of the Mountain King/Alton Towers music a lot).

Would that be the one where Robotnik had those two robot henchmen whose designs wound up in Sonic 2, and where Sonic had an inexplicable craving for chili dogs? I haven't seen that show in ages, but I still remember it fondly.

wow,you seriously have been living under a rock,I mean who has never heard of SATam Sonic from Dic entertainment, the same people who dubbed Sailor Moon ,Saint Saiya and the 1997 Speed Racer??? but anyway, awww yes, fond memories of that show indeed,SATam took a more action dark side to sonic,it's like,it was'nt really sonic, but more like an action superhero cartoon with sonic characters in it ^^ Sally always had to tell Sonic what to do,but I hate how they treated Tails in that series compared to his roles in Adventures of Sonic the hedgehog and the japanese Sonic animes. adventures of Sonic the hedgehog was the looney tunes style comedy one and the two idiot robots were Scratch and Grounder and the monkey named Cocounuts, while SATAm had a Dark emperor robotnik voiced by Jim CUmmings(Pete,Pooh and tigger) commanding Swat bots.

Very true. I know all of these comments like where have you been for so long. Yes SatAm is a classic but thats not the point. The point is that if your intrested in one of the sonic series then provide the author with some feed back and critism as to why. I am not currently into any Sonic series, and have'nt been for a long time. However there used to be a little series called Sonic X, which was my favorite because the storyline was just truelly fanominal. The whole thing with the chaos emeralds and chaos control was just really amazing. Chaos control definatly had to be by far my favorite move of sonics because it allowed sonic to teleport back to the human world. To me that was so cool.

Sonic X was flawed to me in one very big way: They made the classic blunder of making the annoying human boy the main character instead of the iconic hero that everyone loves. While Sonic & co. still got to do all the cool stuff, it was still up to the little twerp to advance the plot to the point where they had to step in. It's akin to making a Mega Man cartoon and then relegating him to the role of supporting character who has to rescue this annoying little boy who does nothing but get in trouble all the time and oh yeah it turns out he's actually the key to saving the entire world, too.

Nobody cares about the stupid brat. I always quietly wished the writers would kill such characters off in spectacular fashion so they'd stop hogging the screen with their endless prattling and let the heroes be the main characters like they're supposed to be!

Sorry for the venting. It's just a pet peeve of mine.

Additionally, I felt that SatAm's supporting cast was vastly superior to X's. While they were never as cool as Sonic (natch), they were likeable and had depth to them. X's supporting characters were just annoying.

SatAM was probably my first 'guilty pleasure' show- I remember sneaking out to watch it Saturdays, but always being worried about getting caught watching it. I'm not sure why- I certainly don't mind anymore and own the DVD set.

Adventures I saw once, and didn't like. I hadn't yet developed a taste for screwball comedy at the time, I think if I saw it now I might like it better. SatAM did have the far better supporting cast- I'd happily toss Amy and Cream off a cliff to get Sally back in the cast again. Laughing

I consider such things "promotional stunts" and not actual series per se. Even if it's not true, it helps me sleep at night.

I'm glad some of you anime fans remember the SatAM Series. It may not be anime or related to the video games, but I've give it a masterpiece rating! How about you anime fans? What rating to you give Sonic SatAM?

And one more question, forgive me to say this, what will happend if Sega or somebody else produce a new Sonic TV Anime Series based on the Sonic Comic / Archie Characters?

Just asking.

I'd buy it.

But it won't happen- the early Sonic games were produced with the idea that there would be no in-game 'story' to speak of, allowing each region to rewrite the backstory to suit local tastes. It was this open-endedness that allowed the SatAM universe to be created.

Since then, Sega's cannonized the Sonic games (I think starting with Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast.) A new series based in the SatAM world would be completely removed from the offical 'canon' universe, so I don't they'd allow it to happen. Which kinda sucks, really- I'd pay up for a new SatAM series, but not one with the 'offical' cast.

I would buy it to. I have only read three or four of the comics, however I can already tell that I like the comics better. The comics tell a more in depth story about each charicter. To me thats definatly a buy over the anime any day.

All I have to say is Sonic Underground. Jaleel White voiced a female character. UGH.
