I've been having this problem since Monday, thought it would pass, but it hasn't. The site has been very slow to load at times, both the forum and the rest of the site. Sometimes it will actually fail to load, other times it appears to load, but I'll still have "1 item remaining" on the progress bar. This is the only site I'm having this problem with, even sites that are heavy on substance and Flash load fine.
Here's a few stats for reference:
-fast. subscription server
-Windows XP
-IE 7.0
-20K kb/s download speed
-cleaned cookies and history
-most ads disabled
Also, probably not related, but while I'm at it; For some time now I've been having trouble with pictures loading here. For some reason if I'm in an article that's heavy on pictures like the Japanese TV rankings or some of the picture heavy articles some of the pics will only load half way and stop loading, but IE will still say they've loaded completely. This is the only site I have this problem on.

Yes, I'm having the same trouble. It's not really consistent, but happens rather often. Linux (Ubuntu Jaunty) and Firefox 3.0.4 here.

It is especially bad today, and I can't even read any of the forums without it dying after showing about three posts.
No other site is acting this way.
FrontMotion Firefox, version 3.0.3.
EDIT: this is from my work computer, where we're on some kind of network, I guess? I'm really computer illiterate.

I find it interesting that all three of you are subscribers. However, that doesn't mean I'm not having problems either. With no other tabs loading, it took me at least a minute to load this page, which is slow even for my connection.
I'm using Firefox 3.0.4.

Frustratingly slow, and extremely buggy. In both IE and Firefox. Both on Fast, and on the other proper servers. Also the skin won't load on any forum pages, so it just goes to default blue.
I am not even confident this will get posted. It's pretty bad.

This appears to be a network connectivity problem. I'm trying to gather information to report it to the noc.

That's weird. It's working fine ever since I've been home. I thought maybe it was fixed, but I guess not?
At home I have Firefox 3.0.4 and DSL.

It's still sluggish, after 24 hours of on and off.
I've observed something strange and wonder if that would help: when using Firefox 3.0.4 to browse -- and wait for loading -- pages on this site, CPU loading is quite high even if I have nothing else running, and the page file increases slowly yet constantly, at a rate of about 1 MB per 3 seconds. Furthermore, it causes Firefox to have a CPU usage spike every 27 seconds, and the size of the page file would fall back to the smaller size 27 seconds ago. Rinse and repeat.
It almost looks like an EKG; I've never seen anything like this on Task Manager.

We suspected our switch of acting wonky so we tried rebooting it. Let us know if the site is still slow.

Seems to be working perfectly right now. Just went through a dozen or so links on the site and they all loaded quickly and fully.
Thanks guys.

I assume this was only happening while you were at ANN, right ?
It looks like the kind of thing that could happen if you had a Flash ad-running, did this happen on every ANN page?

Yes, and I closed all other tabs.

Not sure, for I gave up soon after submitting my previous post and haven't retried until now -- everything is back to normal and I can't replicate that "experience" anymore.
Anyway, nice to see the site back on track. Thanks for fixing our Goddesses.

My webpage at work is still loading very slowly and spasmodically, if at all. Occasionally it will go through entirely (otherwise I wouldn't be able to post this) and quickly, but then it'll lag out again, and I'll get the "Website is taking too long to respond" type message. But if everyone else's is fixed, maybe it's a problem on my computer? But all other webpages are loading fine for me.
