If you're replacing fav, you might as well also replace fave, right?
Edit: Yeah, I knew it would replace my bad grammar, I just wanted to see it done... ^__^

How about the word licensed? I'm tired of seeing it mispelled a thousand way.

What about:
neway -> anyway
neways -> anyways
Seems like a lazy one to me.

Ahh, so THAT'S what it is. Yeah, that one should be filtered. And parents wonder why their kids do so poorly in English...

Sometimes "favorite" and other words can be spelled with a "u", like "favourite". I've seen that on this forum sometimes.

Outside of the U.S. (Canada, U.K., and wherever else British English has spread) words like color and favorite are spelled with the "u" in there, so it becomes colour and favourite.

Favourite & favorite are perfectly fine. But since the majority of the people on this BBS are fromt he US, we'll replace f.a.v. with favorite.
"Our" way be damned.

I think "IIRC" should also be added. I always assumed that it was something like the chat and file sharing programs IRC or mIRC. It took me until just recently to find out that it stood for "If I Remember Correctly". Then again, i guess it could also stand for "If I Really Care." (among other phrases)

Personally I think abbreviations should be allowed since they're not slang, just a quicker way of writing things. For example where typing stuff like "neway" or "anyone" is just poor grammar, stuff like IIRC, OMG, LOL, BTW and whatever else is just a short form abbreiation of a common phrase. You're not actually spelling anything wrong by abbreviating it.

True, i understand that most abbreviations should be allowed. But IIRC just seems too close to IRC. Plus IMHO it seems like it's so rarely used that i assumed there were other people like me who had no idea what it ment. But if i'm the only one who doesn't like it, then i guess there really isn't a need to change it. Oh well, i'll get used to it i guess.

Well, if a person starts talking about internet relay chat in the middle of a conversation you're probably reading something wrong.
