Considering how Adult Swim has been systematically removing their anime in favor of more reruns of Tim and Eric Awful Show (I could forgive Family Guy for the ratings, but Tim and Eric? That's just systematic removal) anime's future on CN looks bleak.

So... a rise in ratings for One Piece means the ratings were falling? That has to be to be one of the worst lies I've ever heard... seriously...

Anime will continue to run on Adult Swim, with an emphasis on new series.

And yet its current new series' were shoveled to the ass-end of the scedule with no encore while an older series was moved up? Confused This makes absolutely no sense.

Looks like this panel was more about corporate ass covering than anything. Typical.

I would agree, I'd like to hear about new acquisitions at least, since Code Geass and Moribito are already dead to them. Moribito was still new, it hadn't even had a chance to bloom out before being shot down.

So they didn't say anything on Naruto continuing to air? The talk of a Friday block suggests Naruto might move to Friday nights, but is there any confirmation on what's going to happen to it?

The reason why some of the anime are getting low ratings is because they are watching it under youtube or some other websites out there that you can see anime; its not because the anime is not popular and also some people out there don't have cable and wish to watch anime but they can't. I don't know if adultswim.com counts as ratings?

New series= shippuden? It's a possibility right and it does make sense. I doubt CN is in good standing with many other companies right now and now that toonami is dead the do need somewhere to show it.

Those shows were moved to 5am last week. The Friday block (which lasted a whopping 3 weeks) was also removed last week, and there was no anime on it to begin with. (despite Cowboy Bebop's inclusion being common sense, they figured The Oblongs, and it's 13 episodes where a better choice)

Yeah. I used to joke that Cartoon Network was programmed by Looney Tunes, especially because they used to vote a cartoon character to be "president" of CN every four years. These days I really, seriously wonder if the people in charge of programming aren't completely incompetent. I mean, how many times have they made these quick turnarounds with programming? Move a show here, then move it there two weeks later; start a block, then kill it three weeks later.

I've never even heard of this "Old School Fridays"; When did they plug for it?

Hmmm....perhaps the US anime production companies can no longer afford to broadcast on CN anymore due to declining DVD sales. In addition Toonami airs mostly cut version of the anime, that fans don't really want to watch.

Since fans don't watch cut anime, advertisers have no reason to take out commercials in that broadcast segment. If CN can't collect money from production companies or advertisers for that block, there's no reason to keep it around.

Just a hunch... Laughing

Hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey...

Tim and Eric Awful Show? Please, don't insult it just because you don't get it. Very Happy

As another poster said, this really just sounded like a lot of corporate BS, I imagine most attendees of the panel were pissed, I know I would be.

I wonder if their new acquisitions are anything BEYOND Shippuden. If not, then... meh, AS in terms of anime is dead to me completely once Code Geass R2 finishes airing.

Look, just because the budge for AS's BS is tighter than a duck's arse nine times out of ten doesn't meen there's some brillant thing to it.

Here's what's to get, every last show (Venture Brothers, Moral Oral and a few others I'm probably forgeting excluded) on AS that's not an import from somewhere is made with a duck arse budget. They are not willing to spend more than pennies to entertain you.
12 OZ Mouse is not Big O in terms of plot. It's barely Episodes 25 and 26 of Evangelion.

That siad, SuperJail! looks to be good.

I just don't believe that reruns of Assy McGee on Saturdays are getting better ratings than Shin-chan. It was the highest rated show on their Sat. lineup last month.

Well with the Ratings Report tonight, last Saturday's ratings(first Saturday with the new lineup) showed that ATHF got the same #1 numbers as Bleach did the week before: 258,000. So take it for what it's worth.
