I realize this is my first time posting on these forums, but I just wanted to post to say "Thank you!"

A couple of months ago a college friend of mine got me hooked on anime and showed me how to get some episodes via torrents. He also told me that they showed some anime on Cartoon Network durning Adult swim if I wanted to watch some as well.

Now being in college and working I don't have a lot of free time. I thought "Wow now I can watch anime whenever I want". One night on Adult Swim I saw part of an episode of Eureka 7 and an episode of Inuyasha and really liked both of them. Over last month I downloaded 2 episodes of each and just finished watching them. Then 2 days ago while I was looking for the 3rd episodes of each I came across one of the Hey Answerman! columns about fansubs and how people were just downloading anime and not buying dvds. I was so moved by some of the things anime fans had wrote in the column and on the forums of this site about that issue that I immediatly deleted the 4 episodes that I had and went to Best Buy and purchased all the Inuyasha and Eureka box sets.

I had no idea of the impact it had.

Once again "Thank you!" to everyone for showing me the error of my ways!

I apologize for not posting in the correct thread. Feel free to move the post Very Happy

Nice to meet ya. We have a nice intro thread at the top where you can formally introduce yourself and tell us all about yourself too. You even get a welcome bag of goodies for doing so heh. And just so you know there are also some legal sites, mostly American anime company websites themselves, where you can watch episodes online. Netflix also has a nice new deal too. If you sign up for any of their unlimited rental at a time plans (most being very cheap) you can watch all the free streaming movies/anime you want from their site. Their selection is limited of course but it's still something none the less. Plus renting through Netflix itself will help you to save money and still watch lots of anime. Plus since they have no late fees if you are short on time you can keep dvds out however long you want. And since I just realized I sound like a Netflix spokesperson I'm going to shut up now lol.
