Mmm, this could still turn out okay as long as they also publish all the other volumes online as well, and provide them in an easy to use and easy to print format.

Well I can safely say I've never heard of this series, but I do know Tokyopop isn't doing well.
Hope Tokyopop got rid of the series that weren't doing well or at least merge, because I am fearing this company may have to close at this rate.

Aw, crap ....I didn't think that world manga with only one more volume to go would be affected....man, I hope that the last volume of My Cat Loki isn't affected by this, but if it is I can only hope that an online version will be fairly easy to print. For now, I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that I can put a printed, bound, bookstore-bought version of volume 3 next to my other two volumes of My Cat Loki. It's the only world manga I've collected besides Dramacon, and I enjoy it so very much. Sigh.

Yeah, I thought that manga with only one more volume to go would be unaffected too. This stinks for whoever was collecting the series. Especially if the books are already finished and ready to go. Bad PR, TokyoPop, bad PR.

Maybe they can make it avaliable world wide, I couldn't find Atomic King Daidogan becuase it as TP shop only and that was US Only.
Honestly, there's at least three series I'm having trouble tracking down and it's rather anoying.
.hack//another birth
Mahromatic
Full Metal Panic Novel
Gundam Seed Novel
Though I'm sure the last one is as good as vaporware at this point.

I actually have all of those, at least up to FMP novel 2 and GS novel 3. Not sure if Gundam ever had anymore novels come out, sadly.

I hope Rivkah is severely pissed at this. She deserves to be.
I guess TP will be massively cutting back on its OEL endeavors? On one hand, it seems kind of sad because OEL REALLY NEEDS TO IMPROVE if it ever wants to be even a shadow of Japanese manga. On the other hand, hell, Tokyopop totally oversaturated the market with crap that no one reads!

That sucks for the fans of the series. I know if I were reading a series and all of a sudden they told me I had to read/buy the rest online, I would be angry. For one thing, if you ever want to re-read the series, you have to read your books and then find a computer somewhere (or probably just the ONE computer you have a license to view it on, which is worse) to finish the story. I love books cause you can take them anywhere and you aren't tied to anything.
Another thing is...your bookshelf will look so lonely and sad without the other volumes
Although in general I've not had good experiences with OEL manga (I actually didn't like Steady Beat at all), I think it was a poor decision for Tokyopop to do this to the fans who do read it. I've personally been burned by Tokyopop canceling the books I collected from them several times (Slayers novels, Scrapped Princess Novels) and because of that I now almost read Viz exclusively and some Del Rey. If there is a TP series I really want to read, I request the library buys it. But I do have the prequel to GTO and Welcome to the NHK, and if they pull this online stuff with either of them, I'm putting them on Ebay. Gah.

Given the situation Tokyopop is in right now, I think this is actually the better decision for the fans. At least it means they can read the rest of it, instead of just outright canceling the series which is probably the only alternative that the company was facing.

Since they are reprinting Dramacon into an wideback, I wonder what OEL titles will make it to the printers... I hope Fool's Gold somehow makes it.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Hopefully TP will cut back on it's OEL and maybe be more picky with what it publishes because right now a lot of it is crap.

I'm so terribly sad that MCL won't be completed. I dearly love the series and it's one of my favorite OEL manga. To me, an incomplete series is worse than it having a poor ending...
I just hope that TP will bounce back and it can be re-approached in the near future.

Be glad Tokyopop isn't on the verge of closing, there still time for Tokyopop to make a comeback.
I am sure Tokyopop doesn't want to make fans angry, but blame the people that neverr buy manga and the economy.

Well this is depressing.
I've known Rivkah and Bettina since before they first got published and this is just such a kick in the vitals after all their hard work.
Oh well, I think anyone who's serious about becoming a "Famouse Manga Artiste" already knows that they had better be ready to be very, very broke. (And work on 3 hours of sleep a night.)
Help us Seven Seas, you're our only hope.
