Why isn't there an option to download it?
A real shame indeed.

I'm just wondering when sailors are gonna get public service-themed manga discussing STDs.

For some reason, I want a copy of that. I guess I'll just settle for looking at the English version online.

Saw this on Japan probe a few days ago. Not gonna fly to be honest given how American Soldiers as of late have pretty much put a black eye.
Also, aren't the Okinawans wanting to forcibly evict the US military and shove them into the sea?

Wait, if the manga only started getting distributed online on Monday, how did you see it a few days ago?
EDIT: Looks like that site didn't travel in time. It posted on Monday, too.

Putting aside the reality of the situation, and just looking at the book:
It may be propaganda but it's the good kind of propaganda. I.e. happy pictures of nice people doing nice things and working hard while providing some small amount of information about what being a sailor is like on a ship like that. Then they combine it with a sappy story about a half japanese sailor reuniting with his long lost grandparents in Japan. But it's actually pretty funny here and there and the art is really old-school and simple.
The best line is when the mean commanding officer tells Jack (the main character) that he plans on shopping in Akihabara during his shore leave and everyone face palms.

Wonder if Jack will rape some poor Japanese chick while on his shore leave? That would be quite propaganda gone wrong^^

The manga looks cool. I know some people at Stars and Strips who let me know where I can get a copy.

What are you getting at here?

Yeah, it's been like that for years. However, this manga is being distributed at Yokosuka Naval Base on Tokyo Bay.

Getting serious "yaranaika" vibes from the way they drew the face of the guy on the cover. Is it just me?

Care to explain that in proper English? I mean, don't make it harder for us, not born English-speakers. "Yaranaika" didn't appear in my textbook.
Propaganda books use to upset me, but it's a nice idea, though.

What happened? Since it was mentioned here, I assume that it was US / Japanese history that was revised.
Also, I see that they are distributing printed Japanese-language versions of the graphic novel, Did they print an English version?

Nope, the revisions were related to the atrocities that the Japanese committed in China in WWII. Which btw, for the anti-american trolls posting earlier, makes what some US military personnel have done in Okinawa look like a parking ticket.
