So far, the only complaint I have is Goku... His hair is like... "Wtf?" I'd rather have it not spiky than have it ugly looking

I like it and don't like it at the same time. Confused

I just hope the cinematography is awesome. I think that is what it will come down to.

i don't like looks of the cast...I think the original Dragonball movie was more realistic, i mean that's cool they are trying to make a dbz movie and all..but c'mon...master roshi is chow yun fat? shoot in the original dbz movie, master roshi was like right on!

and...i would of thought the characters would of been asian actors and goku's hair just ain't cutting it.

and james marsters as piccolo? i think his voice would be pretty good to covet piccolo's voice like in the anime but as far as looks? =/

looks like it's gonna be a high budget disney movie.

Looks neat actually. The only thing I don't like is clothing. Looks like they jumped out of some high school. Confused

It comes down to cinematography, yes, but the story's also important. More important even.

As of Dragonball though, aren't Goku and the others in high school? So it kinda fits.

Everytime the cast says something stupid about this movie, I want to kill a kitten.

"... Shakespearean sense of good and evil ..."

*kitten dies*

"Goku is Luke Skywalker reincarnated ..."

*kitten dies*

Think of the kittens please, and just shut the hell up.

Cut to about 2 years later, when the cast recalls this garbage with the same warmth and happiness that Bob Hoskings and John Leguizamo recall about Super Mario Bros The Movie.

I actually feel sorry for these people, having to be in a movie that will be so terrible that it'll forever haunt them. Not to mention all of the anime fans that will, most likely, blame them for the reason that this movie was ultimately trash.

I suppose that they'll have to eventually join the same support group that the cast of such (sarcasm)well adapted licenses(/sarcasm) are in, like the cast of Mortal Kombat Annihilation, Speed Racer, and Super Mario Bros.

I can only imagine the psychological rehabilitation that people that get suckered into doing genuinly awful movies are in need of.

I just wish it wasn't taking the credibility of the Dragonball license to hell with them.

This thing is going to be such an utter disgrace, it's going to make the Alien vs Predator films look like Citizen Kane.

So far, i'm liking this movie as it seems to come together. My only concerne so far is the clothes. It looks too much high-school and too little martial arts.

Now, now calm down. Don't you think it's a little rushed to judge a movie based simply on a few pics? And while i haven't seen either speed racer or SMB Annihilation was a pretyy good film IMHO. It set out to be an adaption of MK3 and it managed to do so while staying close enough to the game while tweaking it just enough to be an entertaining movie.

....Most of the actors are Asian. The only major cast members that aren't are the actors playing Gokuu, Bulma, and Piccolo. Bulma is obviously supposed to be from a Western culture anyway (she lives in West City), and Gokuu and Piccolo are aliens, so it doesn't really matter what race the actors are.

Gokuu's hair....I'm alright with it. Obviously, the hair he has in DB is impossible to portray in real life without it looking too costumey, so I think Justin's slightly spiked up and angled hair is pretty good.

So you can think of someone who does look like a big green alien? That's why they have makeup.

Gokuu never went to high school, or school of any sort besides martial arts training. Chichi probably didn't, either, though perhaps had some private tutoring since she was the daughter of the Ox King. Pretty much the only character who definitely went to school would be Bulma (well, Puar and Oolong went to shape-shifting school, but they're not in this movie Razz) That's why a lot of people have a problem with the high school setting, because it's not an environment that these characters were ever a part of originally. I'm hoping that the high school stuff is just used as a convenient way to introduce and bring the characters together and then later forgotten after the action starts.

I wouldn't go that far, but I feel for you. It reminds me of how Ricci described Speed Racer's Trixie in a feminist light.

Karma: Hoskins made it up to me with Danny the Dog/Unleashed. Cool

Azmodeus: What are you talkin' about? Annihilation was a [url=http://www.whatever-dude.com/posts/67.shtml]crap[/url film!

Most of the supporting actors.

That's the location of the city, not a description of the ethnic groups living there...

You forgot Gohan.

So the fact that whenever West City is shown, all of the signs are written in English, or that all Capsule Corporation products have no Japanese writing at all, isn't supposed to be indicating that it's supposed to be mimicking a Western society? Yes, Dragonball doesn't take place in "our" exact Earth, but they do portray a wide range of cultures on the show, and Bulma and the place she lives are clearly supposed to be representing Western society.

We're talking about the Dragonball movie here, which doesn't cover Dragonball Z. Gohan wasn't even conceived yet at the time period being portrayed.

Goku really SHOULD have an asian actor of sorts though. The inspiration for Goku, the origin of the idea for Goku's character is the monkey god Son Goku from Journey To the West. Even most of the ideas from dragonballs goku came from journey to the west. Also, oolong was inspired by that pig demon from journey to the west, and Master Roshi was most likely based on that monk. Although the idea is mostly based on the story doesnt mean it should be exactly the same, but Im pretty sure the original creator for Dragonball was thinking of something entirely different then the current actor for Goku.
