So wait, let me see if I've got this straight- we have a video game, which is popular enough to produce manga spin-off, which leads to an anime based on the story of the game, not the manga, and then the same anime produces a second season, which gets adapted into a manga, which... what?

I think this has more to do with strengthening the brand before the DS game comes out (hence, V Jump) than anything else.

don't forget to through the spin offs like Ral Grad into that, which I think is a pretty cool. really tempted to get the game myself if my xbox wasn't broken right now.

And that's the problem with Blue Dragon for me. The massive marketing going into it, with all the releases and tie-ins...It just feels too manufactured...
Too focus group-y or something...Well, maybe not that, but it definitely feels "manufactured", like they're trying to *force* the "franchise" to be successful.
