I've really fallen in love with this manga. It's daily life 4koma, sort of like Azumanga Daioh. It's about about a shy girl named Sora, who's two favorite things are walking and tea, and the quirky friends she meets at her high school's art club.
I'd love for it to be licensed, but it doesn't seem to likely. Then again, maybe...Hidamari Sketch is being put out by Yen Press. More publishers seem to be doing seinen stuff, and not just the Berserk/Eden style blood-and-guts seinen, but the relaxed slice-of-life seinen. The fact that Sketchbook has a recent anime adaption helps to. (Sketchbook ~Full Colors, aired last season) Although there hasn't even been a proper scanlating group for it either. All that's been translated is the first 5 short chapters by Anonymous on 4chan. These are some random sample pages: http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a236/timpeters/037.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a236/timpeters/033.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a236/timpeters/050.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a236/timpeters/048.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a236/timpeters/054.jpg I think it deserves more attention. It has a sort of of homey "badly drawn" art style to it, something that doesn't look very polished but just seems to work for me. The manga has the same "relaxed" feel as the anime, just humorous little reflections on normal problems and mysteries. Also, cats. Lots and lots of cats. |

Is there supposed to be a punchline to any of these?
