I will be most disappointed if they don't find some way to have Hugh Laurie make a cameo appearance in it.

I mean why not, we had a House M.D/Blackjack crossover as a promo back in 2010:

Back on topic, assuming this live-action J-drama adaptation does so well in Japan, how long until it get picked up for a foreign-language localized remake like let say South Korea want to remake/adapt Ameku M.D into a K-drama, can it get a US remake in the near future just like how The Good Doctor (the 2013 K-drama) would later get an American remake that lasted 7 seasons (2017-2024) with the total of 125 episodes vs South Korea's 1 season, 20 episodes? Could that be a thing, a Ameku M.D's American remake I assume for either Netflix, or Hulu? I wouldn't be shocked if it got a Brazilian remake, and a Turkish remake, and other foreign-language adaptation beside a hypothetical Korean and American remakes.

EDIT: Oh speaking of The Good Doctor, I want to note that and make a disclaimer, beside an American remake, That particular K-drama has also gotten a Japanese remake (in 2018) too. Beside the Japanese and American remake, it also had a Turkish remake, and a Thai remake too. So The Good Doctor beside the Korean original, it spawned a bunch of foreign remakes/adaptations. I'm stating that for fair game amongst ANN forumite.

I really hope the live-action J Drama will be leagues better than the anime, but I’m not convinced it will be as I suspect the source material is what’s lacking here. The “mysteries” are far too easily solved and there really isn’t much suspense in the story. I personally love mysteries but imo nothing has been done better than Undead Murder Farce or Moriarty The Patriot in recent memory.

I wonder if they'll cast someone really short for the lead.
