This seems interesting. Like a lot of others,I also hope this gets an English dub. I think Ocean Studios should get this one. It's Canadian and I think this may be right up their alley. Also,I hope they get Megan Follows for this one. She did a TV show during the eighties that was imported here from Canada that was on the Disney Channel back then. I think she'd be really great for something like this. What do you guys think about it?

Yeah, but I wonder, which company could get the rights for this new version of Anne of Green Gables, the first anime adaptation got dubbed into various languages back in the '80. Don't think Crunchyroll would want to have it, don't know if they think their target audience would like to watch an all-ages anime based on a classsic history, I think it would make more sense for Netlfix (especially since they also had the rights of Anne with an E) or Disney+. I think it would be sad if this anime doesn't live Japan, we need more anime for all audiences that aren't based on toys or video games |

Looks good from the preview so far! I've read all the Anne books and I love the 1979 anime, so I'm hopeful for this one.

The show's official website has an "EN" tag. Right now, it's not active, but it would be weird to do an English site for something not leaving Japan. |

Heads up, CBC (or Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for any of our non-US/Canadian folks out there) News has just talked about the anime 3 days ago. Prince Edward Island tourism community is hoping the upcoming anime TV series could re-ignite interest in that particular island. I don't know who could license the anime for the US/North America continent, but given how important P.E.I is and the contribution it did for the original novel and all of the anime adaptation (both past and this upcoming one). I would love if the English dub can cast Megan Fallows to maybe voice one of the character (not Anne, but maybe Marilla Cuthbert?) in the Anne Shirley anime for the dub, I mean she did played the title character in the CBC's 1985 live-action adaptation of the novel, and she reprised her role for the 1987 sequel, and the 2000's continuation sequel. Megan also got involved with doing the audiobook adaptation of Anne of Green Gable.
I really think if Netflix or GKIDS could pick up the North American right for the Anne Shirley anime, I want Megan Fallows to be casted in the English dub as maybe Marilla, or any character for the anime. I mean we've been seeing English dub of anime are putting celebrity and voice actors that don't do anime voice-acting/dubbing (ie: Netflix's English dub cast for Sakamoto Days, and Crunchyroll casting J.Balvin for the English dub for Solo Leveling season 2). I mean Megan is Anne Shirley ever since she played it in 1985, and she always sometime poke around for the character and the novel, I think it would make sense for the English dub cast to have Megan Fallows to be part of the English dub to help make the anime more accessible to people who read the book or watch other adaptation of Anne of Green Gables. |

I have no disagreement with mdo7 on this one. This one seems tailor made for an English dub. I've said it before here previously,I'll say it again. If any studio deserves to get this one,it's Ocean Studios. It's appropriate because it's Canadian and they'd do a very good job with it. I also hope that Megan Follows get cast in it as well. It would be highly appropriate because she starred in a Canadian series that was based on Ms. Montgomery's novels back in the 80's that was broadcast here on the Disney Channel. It would be a shame if she didn't participate in this. She highly deserves to be in it.
