I just suddenly felt my age. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm still sitting on the DVD somewhere.

Ya beat me to the punch. Kids these days would have no idea that Media Blasters used to be a reasonably big deal in NA anime distribution.

Between this and their upcoming English-dubbed Blu-ray of Chu-Bra, it seems MB has some cool stuff coming up. Smile

They do, and they've re-released a number of their older titles on BD, as well as a few new ones. They even have their own storefront.

Between their live-action stuff and being pretty much the only hentai distributor left (which is why they needed their own storefront after Rightstuf got sold), Media Blasters is actually busier than Nozomi was before Nozomi basically wound down its operations.

Although you'll have to be careful if you're in Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Utah.

They also have the license to Genshiken (unreleased), Mahō Shōjo Tai Arusu, Mazinkaiser SKL, and the 00's Pheonix anime. There's a lot of other stuff in their catalog too, especially in the live action department.

To be clear, they've released Genshiken plenty of times in the past on DVD.
But yes, they now have a Blu-ray release for that (and Kanokon) coming up this year. Smile

Boy I remember reading a DVD review of this in GameFan where I was going “What!?! DVDs have custom menus and they look like that?" because while I'd had heard about them I didn't know about the whole menu thing. I thought you just put in the disc and it would automatically play with the standerd VCR controls. In a indirect way, this show lead me into asking for a DVD player for Christmas which I did get along with a DVD of Jaws even though I didn't ask for a movie or show since we rented a lot from the local rental place which did carry DVDs at the time but had more tapes then discs. I still have that DVD player and yes it still works!

Man are you wrong-Nanako was an old Pioneer/Geneon title from the very early 2000's. In any case I could tell you that John Sirabella is still very much alive and kicking as I met and talked to him for 20 minutes at last years Nan Desu Kan and is still putting out physical media (almost all blurays) these days-he's only 59.
