Time to collect the eggs now that they are on sale. I barely remember the plot besides some memes like the Urobuchi bingo and comparisons to Unicorn

So the first 8 episodes of interesting material will make up about 20-25 minutes of the movie?

I feel a great deal of gratitude toward shows like Aldnoah and Guilty Crown for introducing me to Sawano, who quickly became one of my favorite composers. On the other hand, these shows also nearly killed my love for anime due to how much I disliked their plot developments after strong initial starts.

I've watched Aldnoah.Zero every other January since it's original run concluded. I am one who actually really liked the show, despite not being thrilled with the ending. The ending makes sense - not the typical wish fulfillment overly happy, nor the overly intentionally dark, ending that a lot of series go for. But that unfortunately does leave a bit of a bad taste.

For me, it was Re:Creators that did that, but I did then go back to listen to their earlier soundtracks.

Those soundtracks were all phenomenal. Any time one of Sawano's vocal insert songs starts playing, the scene immediately becomes more epic by a couple of levels.
