Poor Blanc, Rom, Ram and their city, the company whose consoles you anthropomorphize does not accept you.

That's odd, considering some of the other Neptunia games were on Switch.

Between this a few other game cancellations in the west it really feels like we're sliding back to the Wii U era of censorship from Nintendo. That stinks because it was nice during the early Switch days when they seemed to be fine with this stuff and loosening up and becoming the console to be excited for compared to PlayStation versions being the censored versions of games.

Both EastAsiaSoft (on Discord) and Outside Sotonohito (on Twitter) have also stated recent problems with content approval from Nintendo of America, the latter of which is Redneg All Stars, which is a rather tame title. The latest Prison Princess title (from qureate) is also currently locked to the Japanese Nintendo eShop.

Dang. Hope Nintendo doesn't take it back to the days of censoring ordinary wedding dresses

Censorship at it's finest, nothing more.

They also announced a PS4 version of the Neptunia Re;Birth Trilogy. I wonder if those versions will still come west or not. It would be crazy if they did since that would mean Nintendo is more strict than Sony now.

Why the hell does Nintendo suddenly care? The eShop is flooded with softcore. They already broke their "Night Trap will never be on a Nintendo system" promise to the government a long time ago.

Is this another trend of banning every slight instance of sexualized content, but only if it comes from Asia?

Does the Nintendo Switch have any western sexualized content? I'm not overly familiar with modern American games. I hear Baldur's Gate 3 has nudity but it's not on Nintendo Switch. Ditto for games like Grand Theft Auto 5 and The Last of Us 2 which I know also had sex scenes. The Switch in general can't run a lot of modern AAA games so it's library is probably limited.

I think Nintendo is just shifting back to embrace their Family Friendly brand image and appeal to the global market. Pokemon went that way awhile ago, and with things like the Mario movie being done by Illumination and Pokemon working with Aardman Animation now I think they want to clean up their act . A number of first-party titles that have been previously uncensored in Japan have been re-released for the Switch but censored. I think this is just a new era of Nintendo we're seeing sadly.

When they announced the trilogy getting ported to Switch and PS4, IFI stated they would not be releasing the Re;Birth trilogy on PS4 and it would be Switch only, don't think things will change.

Switch has many games with sexualized content that were localized. Like Senran Kagura.

Word on the street is that it's not about censorship. It's just that it's a unfortunately bad port from Vita to Switch.

I know the Switch had ecchi stuff in the past like Moero Chronicle which I like but 1) times change and 2) I was speaking specifically western games since the poster was claiming it was an anti-Asian bias. Anti-Asian/anime bias certainly exists I was just questioning if the Switch had any hyper sexual American games.

If you're referring to all that choppy footage of bad framerates apparently that's from a guy playing it on an emulator and people playing it on actual hardware have no issues. Although considering how bad some Switch ports run I doubt they would care about that too much.

I've heard that it's due to horrendous performance and optimization rather than objectionable content. There's straight up softcore porn on the eshop.

Nep games run like crap even on hardware it was designed for, I can't imagine Switch would be any better. Then again Nintendo let Pokemon Scarlet and Violet happen...

If it is due to content... It makes zero sense. I could understand Re;birth2 because of CFW Trick's shenanigans and the fanservice of Ram and Rom, but re;birth 1 is fairly tame and Re;birth 3 is no worse than actual Nintendo titles like Xenoblade 2 or Bayonetta.
