Cat's Eye remake on Disney+? What world do we live in!?

The trailer is CG but I hope the actual animation is 2D.

Also will they recast everybody? I know they had most of the original cast (save for the late Toshiko Fujita) in the Lupin crossover.

I wonder if it'll be directly adapting the manga in full?

So I’m guessing it will be a Hulu release in North America.

Maybe they can actually advertise this one.

Considering they haven’t advertised any of their past anime’s I doubt it.

I do hope it's 2D as well, but I assume it'll be like the Lupin crossover they did. I do not care for CG animation much.

Coming to Disney+. The anime is already dead before it even arrived.

Very Interesting news, now all we have to do is see if Disney+ Japan will do a reboot of 3x3 Eyes in the near future.

I've gotta admit that this is puzzling to me. The original "Cat's Eye" was never brought to America. I have no idea how people are going to feel about it,especially since it's going to be on Disney+. Why is this new version coming here now? This show doesn't have the fanbase here that it might have elsewhere. This is very confusing to me. Confused

I'm just hoping this leads to the manga getting picked up.

It might well be a case of Disney+ trying to expand in countries other than America. Both Cat's Eye and City Hunter are big in France, and I know they have fans in Canada. These two series have also recently received theatrical releases, and the crossover film Shinjuku Private Eyes in particular was highly-praised. All in all, this seems like Disney making a safe choice.

I mean, it's not like it's City Hunter getting rebooted on there.

Given we don't see the girls outside of their shadows, I feel like the CGI is either going to be for this trailer or this intro. Because I don't think the Lupin III crossover was well-received as far as its animation was concerned (I certainly thought it was a step down from the first Lupin CGI movie)

I hope they placed the action in the 80's, as their adventures are quite impossible in this era with smartphones and security cameras everywhere.

Also, Cat's Eye was kind of popular in Europe (specially in Italy and France, I think). So that means that IF Disney+ Europe bring this, we will never notice it, as they won't make any ad about it.

EDITED to add France.

Indeed, Cat's Eye and City Hunter were and still are a big deal here in France, you can still watch their episodes on our country 1st TV channel TF1's replay ( which isn't an anime channel ) at the moment i'm writing even though the license of many other younger series has long been revoked. Cat's Eye Live Action is very painful to watch so i hope this remake can heal me.
