Hasn't this franchise suffered enough already?

A bet someone a dollar the movie will break the f-bomb record by 1 more f-bomb set back by House of the Dead: Overkill back 2009 on a family friendly console known as the Nintendo Wii.

Honestly, after the Uwe Boll flick, anything would be better. And don't go retroactively remembering it as a great "campy" film like every Goddamn piece of media nowadays. It was shit then and it remains shit. |

The only reason I like the Uwe Bollocks one is that it's exactly what I imagine a shooter would be in film form. Though it probably led to that lazy Doom adaptation....

Going full Overkill may be the only way to make it somewhat enjoyable. |

At first, I thought it was the only Paul Anderson. Which would have been very interesting to see. Instead, it's the guy who made Con Air.

I mistook him for Paul Thomas Anderson and thought, "odd, but that's great." Then I realized it was the RE director.

Unfortunately Anderson is too boring of a director to do that. His Monster Hunter movie was so bad it seems CAPCOM has finally booted him. Also, I'm pretty sure that press release has AI art in it. Gross, dude. |

Paul W.S. Anderson has no ties to Con Air (1997), that was directed by Simon West. This is the Paul Anderson who did such films as Mortal Kombat (1995), Resident Evil 1, 4, 5, and 6, and Monster Hunter (2020), to name a few. Here's his full filmography. |

Paul W.S. Anderson also directed Event Horizon, which was sadly bungled with a lot of studio interference but has since become a beloved cult classic for horror fans. Honestly, if this movie actually winds up getting made, Anderson isn't a bad choice for House of the Dead, which always had a mix of serious horror concepts & cheesy, genre-loving fun to each entry (that I know of, at least, as I've never played Scarlet Dawn).
If we can get the Paul W.S. Anderson that gave us MK '95 & RE1, with maybe a touch of Event Horizon for effect, then a new HotD movie could be OK, at the very least. |

The first movie might've stunk but the loosely-connected sequel was actually pretty good.

I wonder if he got at least one job because someone assumed he was Paul Thomas Anderson. The Uwe Boll flick is one of the worst films of all time btw.

I think I got them confused, because they are both British directors who broke into Hollywood in the 90s. |
