Uh, what do you mean "gets"? It already had this one, it was a simuldub, just not on Crunchyroll.

An episode is also streaming on Tubi, but it's only one episode (2) for some reason: https://tubitv.com/series/300013215/my-deer-friend-nokotan-dubbed The cast list provided by Crunchyroll also indicates it's the same dub, as most of the voice actors previously confirmed their involvement when it premiered in July. |

Yeah, as the others stated, it already had a dub, day 1 even, on Amazon (Prime). Its just that Cruchyroll only had the sub for a while until they got the very same dub that aired on Amazon now.

The dub also used the same subtitle AI script before Crunchyroll fixed the subs which explains all the weirdness of the dub.

I've watched a couple episodes on Amazon, but I'll watch it on Crunchyroll, so I can watch it without ads.

Ah, that would explain the entry on the encyclopedia page listing Crunchryoll for subtitles from episode 3 onward. It looks like the license for the series was snagged by a smaller company that then gave streaming rights to multiple platforms, so it wouldn't be surprising if there were some very budget-conscious choices being made. |

The dub reportedly paid its actors some of the lowest rates I've ever seen. Remow's strategy seems to be hiring cheap online VAs. Makes me wonder where Tonbo's dub was produced as it's the only one of the three they've done without a single confirmed cast member. |

You are forgetting that REMOW did not hired the actors and paid them directly, they hired a brazilian studio called Alcateia to produce this dub, the same studio that produced the brazilian dub as well, and since you know that brazilian economy is not in its best shape (1 dollar equals 5,70 brazilian reais now), that explains how cheap they gone. In Brazil, the same studio follows a union agreement and pay something like 150-180 brazilian reais for an hour of recording to the actors (something like 27-33 dollars currently, considering the conversion), but it's very likely they are probably paying minor values than this for the english VA wich are dubbing Nokotan. Tonbo' dub either way, I think it was not produced by Alcateia, but possibly by Universal Cinergia Miami, wich produced other dubs for REMOW as well. |

I assigned blame to Remow because they're the client. If they're going to a studio in Brazil to produce an English dub, I have to assume they're paying Alcateia well below industry standard rates. That's obviously going to trickle down to how the cast and crew get paid. I get that the cost of living in Sao Paolo or Rio is substantially less than that of any major Canadian and U.S. city, but that only benefits Alcateia's crew and management. The actors they've hired appear to have all been U.S. residents.
