Was honestly expecting Disney to get Atelier given their partnership with Kodansha but I’m glad CR got it instead since unlike Disney they actually promote their anime’s.

Is it common for anime to get licensed before they have a public premiere date?

Yes, in fact it's pretty much the standard nowadays. For CR, they pretty much license all their shows way in advance (even years which would likely be co-productions). There are few cases where distributors don't license shows until very close to air date as it sometimes takes longer to negotiate with the Japanese licensors.

No surprise about Arifureta, MF Ghost, Tower of God, or Hanako-kun but glad to have confirmation for Alya and Witch Hat Atelier.
There's been a rumor that Alya will be getting a dub from Bang Zoom (Mami Okada put out a casting call for someone who can speak fluent Russian) so be interesting to see if that actually happens.

Crunchyroll is investing a lot in Bocchi the Rock with putting the movies even in theaters but still won’t dub it.

Thanks, that makes sense. I guess I'm just not used to seeing streaming services announce that they're going to be streaming a show before audiences know when to expect to be able to watch it.

Quote: | Kodansha's Morning two magazine had announced on April 5 that Kamome Shirahama's Witch Hat Atelier manga will be getting an anime adaptation. |
Just to clarify, that is April 5th from two years ago. I feel like I haven't seen any news on the anime at all since then, so interesting to see it come up in the context of Crunchyroll licensing it.

Maybe they're part of the production committee?
Anyway, you'd better release Alya in BD, Crunchy.

Except for Toei Animation Co., Ltd. which does not license great shows such as Girls Band Cry for viewing in primarily English speaking countries.

I wonder if Witch Hat might be a Crunchyroll co-production?

Very much looking forward to the continuation of MF Ghost. Seeing as we'll probably never get Initial D Fifth and Final stages.

If it's not One Piece, PreCure, Digitmon or Dragonball, there's a good chance it's not getting licensed.

A load of good anime, but I'm really looking forward to No Longer Allowed In Another World, the manga is hilarious with phenomenal artwork. I'm hoping they do it justice.

No surprises here. I expected all of these to air on Crunchy.
