Entirely agree with Richard's take on the series, including how it can sometimes seem like a tourism commercial. I'll only add that the series is surprisingly light on fan service given how curvaceous at least two of the main girls are. Pleasant, low-key view which doesn't devolve too much into typical harem antics despite clearly having a harem configuration.

"Sometime feels like a tourism commercial for Hokkaido."
I was operating under the assumption that that was one of the primary purposes of the series? Like, it seems so upfront with being about promoting Hokkaido that listing that as a negative feels like criticizing a gacha game anime for being a commercial for the game, or criticizing an idol anime for being a commercial for the music.

If it's literally a commercial for Hokkaido, then sure I see your point. But if it only feels that way because the author really, really likes Hokkaido then the criticism stands. Afaik this was never marketed as a tourism Ad.

The series never felt like a tourism commercial to me since they really only focused on the town that the story took place in and didn't even really go into all that much detail about that, either.

If the "tourism commercial" aspect of the show bothers you, you should probably steer clear of the manga.

I think those are negatives, though, since ad culture in general is a negative thing (especially for gacha or the idol industry).

Apparently the manga is actually even more blatant in advertising Hokkaido than the anime was.

The manga usually has a "trivia from Hokkaido" on the first page and then the action starts.
Anyway, it feels more like a soft-ecchi-romcom set in Hokkaido by a mangaka who lives there (I think) than an excuse for a "Visit Hokkaido" anime*.
Also, the main male character manages to get something of a personality later on, spoiler[he confronts his mother and draws a whole art book for and about Fuyuki].

* Also, I have no doubt that the Hokkaido Tourism Bureau is quite happy with the anime.
