Mad props to the MC for being able to remember what happened in the early chapters of a 3000+ chapter novel that's been going for 10 years. Can't say I'd recall much of that unless I reread them every time a new chapter came out (which, if MC did, maybe that's why he doesn't have a very exciting life).
The series sounds somewhat interesting but...

It's a bit of a contrivance but he's up against such overwhelming odds most of the time that the foreknowlage barely provides an advantage. At most it provides a path forward while he still has to work to reach that goal. As for the stats the series doesn't obsess over it too much it's just a simple way to inform the reader of a character's current strength and abilities. I would love to see this get an anime adaptation one day. |

There have been rumors and "leaks" that an anime is currently in production. I would assume it is only time at this point, given how popular the series is. My main worry, which can be seen with past Manhwa adaptations, is part of what makes tropey Manhwa stories fun to read is the great art and splash pages. When that stuff is missed out in the anime adaptation, the weaknesses of the story become that much more apparent. Hopefully any adaptation for OR won't suffer the same fate. |

As someone who read the entire novel of ORV, I hope more people come to discover it and enjoy the story. It is entirely impossible to judge this series just by looking at the first few chapters. Legitimately a ride from start to finale and trying to explain why would spoil the experience. I highly recommend sticking to it if you are reading the manhwa (though the novel is the best way to experience ORV due it's narrative setup).
Just to chime in. What the reviewer doesn't know is that ORV purposely takes a lot of tropes from popular manhwa because the novel Kim Dokja reads is pretty much an amalgamation of all of them combined. The regressor protagonist (Yu Junghyeok), survival setting, stat screens, etc. Tropes might be tiring, but not if the writer knows how to use them creatively like in the case of ORV. |

Oh, I see, that's quite interesting then. A story about someone stuck in a world created by someone using all the obnoxious tropes would be fun. It's a dangerous game to play though because many readers would just dismiss the work as being generic and bad if they only see the parts before that's established (like madoka magica or re;zero needing you to keep watching to really Get It) |

Agreed, I also love Re:Zero so I get it. I enjoy when writing takes common tropes and shapes them to make an interesting character study. ORV also plays the long game with 500+ chapters for the novel so likely some people won't have the patience to see to the end. Ironically, the same situation Kim Dokja experienced and why he was the only reader of his favorite novel to the very last chapter. |
