Wait! The guys from the Remake and Rebirth are redubbing the movie or it's the original cast from 2005?[/img]

It could go either way but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it was the former. But, it also wouldn't surprise me if it was the latter. There are strong arguments to be made on both sides here.

It appears to not be redubbed. There’s a short trailer from Fathom Events going around that uses the existing English dub.

Yeah. Still, they put the director's cut which had some Tarantino violence and extra flashbacks about the exclusive characters.

Considering how they've been handling the remake plot, this feels interestingly timed.
Though speaking of dubs...George Newbern is still the best Sephiroth. Ditto Rick Gomez as Zack.

It looks good -- very good -- and when it comes to FF7, that's (apparently) the only thing that matters.

to this day there was no reason for the recast, especially when the japanese side has been the same for twenty years now...

I still think the Dissidia-era voices for Seph and Zack probably are a bit tighter, but that aside I would likely say that if you can keep up with the subs, especially in a theatre, the subbed version is probably a good watch prior to the next FF7R part being released. Setting aside some cool stuff Tales of Arise did with action combat, FF7R has probably been one of the best things to happen to the JRPG space over the last decade. That they've managed to take such a massive game and make it feel even larger after all of these years is nuts.
Watching all of the dev interviews, you can tell they have a lot more passion for turning FF7R into a love-letter than a product - it was a vibe that was VERY noticeably missing during the era in which Advent Children originally released.
That said, FF7R is still lifting some subtle details from Advent Children, so watching this theatrical release prior to experiencing part 2 next month is gonna be the best way to play the game once it's out. For the folks that haven't felt a Final Fantasy game was worth playing since the PS2 days, I'd definitely make the argument that this is the time to check FF7R out, especially since they're pretty much just handing everyone the first part to try.

Other than the fact that the new cast is like ten times better.

Meh, saw this when it came out back in the early 2000s wasn't very good. I mean TBH the other Final Fantasy Movie that had nothing to do with Final Fantasy from the early 00s was better.. just sayin.

They remastered Crisis Core, but are they also gonna remaster Dirge of Cerberus? The Intermission DLC of FF7R started bringing in Dirge of Cerberus characters, and I'll be damned if I can remember a single thing about that game.

Why would a 4K remaster that's been available since 2021 (using the original cast) and still currently available for purchase need to redub the movie for a 1 day theater release? The financials in that make that a nonsensical move. The same can't be said for Crisis Core Reunion (SE Japan called it a remake), which had justification for the decision in English. The article would have mentioned if the voices would be redone.
