I’m relieved to hear you’re doing well!
It’s great that Golden Sun can reach a whole new generation of fans…but by crazy coincidence, I recently bought both GBA games. |

That Bitch™ is back! And took the ANN servers down, along with my earlier draft! You were missed by people, apparently. Not me, though, baka. Now that you're back to playing XC3, your prescription is to switch to JP voices, swap in Fiona, and go running along the nearby beach. Assuming you haven't already. It'll help. I guarantee it.
It's good to see Golden Sun back on Nintendo's radar. I wonder if they've added a solution for data transfers, similar to how the GB Pokemon ports games apparently work with the box app. Copying out 255 ASCII symbols by hand was a lot of work and took multiple flash cards (the paper kind!). Dark Dawn didn't really sell too well, which is probably why we haven't seen much from the franchise since. (I remember hearing rumors way back that one of the Takahashi brothers had died that fortunately proved to be greatly exaggerated.) On the subject of FFXIV, yeah, the graphics update is necessary. Having worked on shaders for darker skintones, I have this disclosure to make: light is f__g racist. Things that look good on paper or in, y'know, reality, don't always translate to the simplified materials and light physics of a game engine without a little extra awareness. I wouldn't be surprised if Erenville actually has an extra light source in current cutscenes to make his features register. As for the other stuff, they're being rather open with information in a way we haven't really seen since Heavensward teased Azys Lla at fanfest so many years ago, and that makes me kind of nervous about what we haven't seen yet. |

Glad to have you back on board!
Ohhh all the events leading up to Chapter 6 were probably one of the most wild experiences I've ever had in playing a JRPG which I haven't felt in quite a long time.
Hey, don't knock on the cute Scottish girl who loves the sea! |

Great to have you back Jean-Karlo! It's wonderful to see your writing again, though I'll also miss Isaiah Colbert.
I should probably put in the effort to finally just finish Xenoblade 3. I was right in the middle of the final dungeon area but my horrible completionist brain kept making me go "but what about all those character quests?" until I burned out. Seriously though, there's so many. |

Not just his fighting style, Viper also includes an aura effect similar to "Trance" (FFIX's Limit Break system, with "Solution Nine" being the second strongest version of Zidane's Trance skill "Dyne"). I believe the FFXIV officially referred to it as Trance somewhere, but I can't seem to find it at the moment. |

Back to the gamepad. Looking forward to Unicorn Overlord, if just because something that resembles Ogre Battle intrigues me. Another Code: Recollection is also out today and the new Prince of Persia is actually really good instead of boilerplate Ubisoft slurry. Not bad for January

Good that Golden Sun gets well-deserved recognition, I played that, and its sequel, to bits back in the day on Nintendo's handheld, and occasionally on the TV's screen(yeah, it gets a bit pixelated on a large screen...). That's another classic ticked off. Now...´Knocks over table, looks under the carpet, throws a peek behind the shelves´ ...who the heck is keeping Skies of Arcadia hostage!?

Everyone is comparing that new city in XIV to Cyberpunk, but it reminds me more of the Grid from Tron.

Yeah, and the Xbox direct went over more details about it yesterday. Hence why we talked about it.
So, this is how I find out that that a character that had already endeared herself as one of my favorite Heroes is also voiced by Aoi Yuuki I think they actually have it in for her at this point, given all the pint-sized oni they keep having her voice. As for Dark Dawn's sales: yeah, not surprised it sold badly. 2010 was a terrible time to be anything but a cover-based shooter, especially on a hand-held. A pity.
That one's fully on Sega. For real, anyone who still rattles sabers at Nintendo over F-Zero has a lot to learn from Ristar fans, Shinobi fans, Afterburner fans... Heck, people outside of Sega have done more for Skies of Arcadia than Sega. Back when Ian McFlynn was writing the phenomenal Mega Man/Sonic the Hedgehog crossover event, Worlds Unite (the sequel to Worlds Collide), they actually roped Vyse and crew into the events along with a ton of other lesser-known Capcom/Sega properties (Billy Hatcher, the original Nina from Breath of Fire, Viewtiful Joe...). It's also an amazing read if you're just a fan of Capcom and Sega; stuff like Sticks the Badger taming a Gore Magala or Sigma blocking Amaterasu's Celestial Brush without even looking is just fun comics, man.
Thank you. Obviously, I'd have preferred not going through it at all. I'm very blessed that I was able to get all the support I needed. I'm very happy things turned out the way they did, and moreso that I can finally come back to TWIG. |

Honestly I think you can compare Solution 9 to a lot of FF cities - I see Esthar from VIII come up a lot, for me who never quite got through VIII I tend to see Zanarkand from X or the cities on Cocoon in XIII. |

I was going with Terra myself given the FF9 reference. My own theory being it's part of or perhaps remnants of another shard to fit in with the story beats of FF9. |

Welcome back!
I'm so glad both Golden Sun games are going to be made available together--as a know-nothing kid who picked up the first Golden Sun game on a whim decades ago, it was very frustrating to get to the end and realize how much had been left unresolved despite how much I enjoyed playing it. I was lucky enough to get the second game for Christmas, so it wasn't actually such a long wait between games, but I'd never want to wish that frustration on newcomers going into the first game blind. I had similarly mixed feelings on Dark Dawn when I played it--mostly for story sequel setup reasons--but I would be over the moon to get a sequel someday. |
