If Twitch hadn’t made such a silly decision in the first place, they wouldn’t have to backtrack now.

This guy has been screaming about a Switch 2/Switch Pro for years at this point. Yes, a broken clock is right twice a day but its still a broken clock at the end of the day. The fact that Nintendo themselves have repeated themselves that a Switch Pro/Switch 2 wasn't coming out for years because of this constant repeated thing should say something. While yes, a Switch 2 will most likely come out either near the end of this year or next, that's not suprising since it lines up with how Nintendo operates. I don't see them going full in on the 70 dollar price point, outside of prestiege titles like Zelda and the like. I can't imagine paying 70 + for the next Pokemon when Game Freak can't even get something as basic as Legends/Scarlet and Violet running good while being on the same system as stuff like Xenoblade. |

What does Miyamoto even do, though? With a few, rare exceptions, he's only credited as a producer.

No kidding, the tech junkies have been claiming a Switch Pro will happen any day now, but it's clear that was just wishcasting because they don't understand how Nintendo operates. Plus trying to predict Nintendo is a fool's errand. Saying it'll just be "Switch 2.0" is pretty boring and safe considering their history, especially with how they've repeatedly proven that their alternative design philosophy of design over power doesn't just work, it's extremely successful while everyone else is struggling to break even. As for everything else, I'm gonna go against the grain and said give Metroid to TMS Entertainment and have them do a space western where Samus is just wandering around to odd jobs meeting interesting characters. Space Adventure Cobra, but with a woman |

I wonder what direction the Minecraft movie will go. Some kind of isekai where Jack Black is thrown into the world and has to survive like Jumanji?
I kind of liked the various Minecraft animations people have made over the year like the Just Monika music video. Even the Story Mode series/game was kind of cute. Always wondered why they never tried to make an actual Minecraft cartoon in that style. |

Basically the old guy who's been around forever and knows how everything works; he comes around a few times a month to look in on the teams but generally doesn't have much to do if everything is working fine. |

Minecraft movie?
Live action Minecraft movie? The most deliberately blocky, no story game in years, if not ever. As a live action movie. Okay. Sure. At least Mr. Jack Black might be able to pull it off. |

He's a tech analyst who has a garbage track record with his predictions, like when he predicted a few years back that we'd get Mario Kart 9 (instead, we're still jamming with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Nintendo is still showing it a ton of support). People have their heart set on Nintendo just making a Switch that isn't the Switch, for some reason. They're just so enamored with the idea of Nintendo "finally" making a console with "next-gen graphics" when that just has no economic incentive for Nintendo; it'd be too expensive to produce, and it'd be too expensive at retail. The Switch wouldn't have sold nearly as well if it had a $400 price point, and a lot of the millions of Switches sold were to John Q. Publics who don't care about HD graphics. Nintendo is in a weird position with the Switch--not because of gamers, but because they need to give John Q. Public a reason to get an upgrade to the Switch when millions of John Q. Publics nationwide are perfectly happy with what they have now. Gamers™ can stamp their feet until their ankles break... but we're just a fraction of the audience. |

It would be nice if Nintendo would for once make a system that’s just as capable as other gaming systems on the current market. Instead of stuff that’s at least a generation behind and tends to have the worse ports of multi platform stuff.
But I guess they’re the exception to the concept of resting on your laurels/getting complacent.

People buying Switches don't care that the console has the "worst" port of any given game, they just want Switches and a version of the game they can play on it. John Q. Publics don't spend hours comparing screenshots, hence why Nintendo has sold 132 million Switches. When you sell a console you can take with you at $350 and it's got the kind of library the Switch has, you're going to get a lot of normies who don't know what a Teraflop is who find themselves buying a product they want. I dunno why Nintendo ignoring bleeding-edge graphics is them being lazy when it's not even part of their design philosophy--and given the way the industry has been going with the hunt for the bleeding-edge of tech leading to bloated development costs and a human bodycount, they might actually be onto something. The Switch doesn't have 4K resolution, but it has Super Mario Wonder, a game made by a team consisting of senior staff that didn't get laid off. A game that was made with the liberty of no deadlines where developers were given time to iterate on ideas in order to make creative levels. If that's "being lazy", we have very different definitions of complacency. It's one thing when Nintendo doesn't give you what you personally want, but to just call that "lazy" is unfair. It's not someone else's fault when they don't follow the plan you made for them in your head. |

Not all first party titles are as high as $60 now either, so I imagine they'll keep a similar cadence if they go to $70. Just everything will be $10 more than it would have been on the Switch. Pokemon will definitely be full price though, regardless of the quality. It will sell either way, so no reason Nintendo and the Pokemon Company wouldn't want to get the extra money. |

It's cool that Jack Black will be starring in the recently announced new video game movie Minecraft, but what I'd really like to see more is Jack Black's upcoming video game movie role in Borderlands, set for release this year.

At this point the rumors about Nintendo's new console are a pretty burnt out topic, we've been hearing these supposed rumors since 2018 when it was said that there would be a Pro version, and I remember seeing many people angry that they had already bought the release version and would not buy the new version and others that said that they wouldn't buy a Switch since they knew that a new version would come before 2020, I wonder what happened to those people. Still, I have to admit that Nintendo has become the hardware developer who hasn't announced the development of a new console for the longest time, I mean, the development of the Nintendo 64 was announced three years after the launch of the Super NES. To be fair, most of the complaints seem to come from gamers that believe that there are certain patterns that are easy to recognize, especially when it comes to Nintendo, but life is pretty unpredictable. Then you have others that have gone full conspiracy theorist regarding Nintendo's new console, like the allegued existence of a Pro version that was cancelled either due to the success of the regular Switch or dut to the pandemic, those who believe that certain games were meant to run on the new hardware (like Splatoon 3 or Tears of the Kingdom), and that's not counting those claimed that when titles like Luigi's Mansion 3 or Mario + Rabbids 2 were unveiled they were running on new hardware because the graphics looked better than other Switch games.
While I personally believe that this year we might finally see Nintendo announcing their new console, I wonder how people are goint to react if the specs aren't at all similar to those that were leaked multiple time, or if the system it's just a more powerful Switch without any new gimmick |

What's intriguing about Nintendo choosing to be half a generation behind is they've effectively turned the rest of the industry into beta testers. They're able to look at trends that come and go, and figure out what worked and what didn't. Furthermore, when their next system is ready, they can basically get an entire generation's worth of ports that can be marketed as the "definitive edition" of titles with all the updates, DLC, etc as people will buy something (or even double dip) simply because of the portability, especially if it's at a discounted price. Titles like the RE remakes, DMC5, the Assassin's Creeds, Street Fighter, FFXV, Tekken, etc, 3rd parties have a big opportunity to get some extra profit for little expense with that considering how many people use the Switch as their primary console nowadays.Altogether, Nintendo's choice is seeming more like a boon than anything |
