It's fun, doesn't outstay it's welcome, it does what it needs to do and leaves. Despite it being CG, it works well, character designs stand out the most for me. Sadly, a lot of people will be put off simply because it's CG. I'
There is one scene, I forgot which episode it was with the 3 brothers and the bell where the running animation was really bad for a second or two, to the point where I was laughing when it was supposed to be a tense moment.
However, as stated in the review, it doesn't really have connection to the game series other than the title.

As a huge fan of the games(played every one except for the gba games and Dawn of Dreams), I was disappointed. I figured they were not going to adapt the games, as Samonosuke is played by a RL Japanese actor. I was so bored most of the time watching this. It was sad, since my wife turned on Blue eye Samurai, which hit the "edgy ninja scroll like action" way better.

I think "better than average but didn't leave a lasting impact" is a pretty good descriptor of the games, too.
Which is a shame, because how cool would it be if we were getting lavishly produced AAA remakes of the Onimusha games like we are with the RE games? I'd love to see what a modern Onimusha would look like.

Well considering how lackluster the Warlords remaster sold you’re going to be waiting to see for sometime. But don’t worry you’ll have company with Darkstalkers fans.

Funny enough, there was a time when Onimusha 4 had Street Fighter costumes as part of gauging if anyone still cared about that franchise. Sure has turned around.
This has been an incredibly packed month just on Netflix alone and I wonder if having another major CGI samurai show will help or hurt this one.

I know this might sound weird, but a lot about this Onimusha anime reminds me of the Devil May Cry anime which came out way back in the mid-2000s.
I mean, they were both adapted from games and the watching experience kinda felt similar.

So the average Netflix anime, then.

Capcom didn't even care. At they could have published new over the web rather than promoting clothes for Street Fighter 6

That's a real shame. The Warlords remaster was my first time with the franchise, and I quite enjoyed it. Would love to see 2 and 3 get a similar treatment. (But perhaps those are tougher for licensing, with the real-life actors' likenesses?)

The first game also had an actor who was redesigned for Dawn of Dreams if I recall. I'm not sure if that is possible. However, with Keiji Inafune having left Capcom it feels difficult since he was one of major influences in making that game
