I'm sure people will guess most of them right. It certainly doesn't sound like the prior cast, but that is to be excepted since that dub was from over 20 years ago. Most of them sound familiar to me, but I can't put a face to them. Yahiko might be Erica Mendez, he does sound like an angry Gon.

Will Aniplex make us pay an arm and a leg for it when it gets released on DVD/Blu-Ray?

Hey come on now you know that’s not enough you need at least two arms.

Here's hoping Twitter can behave themselves.

At least a kidney, per set. You know they like to release no more than 12-episode a box.

I firmly stand by the notion that Aniplex USA did irreparable harm to the physical anime marketplace.

They've been doing complete sets asap for years now, aka no 12 eps sets in 2 cours+ shows.

And AoA stuff (they barely release anything) is still cheaper than JP releases, and represents a very small % of releases in the west, sure now it seems more considering CR is skipping the vast majority of their own stuff, while getting 80%+ of the simulcasts every season .. they are the ones that are doing a irreparable harm to the physical scene by only releasing a very small fraction of those. Sentai and Discotek are keeping the physical scene alive but can only do so much.

The rare Aniplex English dub trailer that doesn't even reveal the English VA's.

Although I think the main cast has been pretty much figured out at this point.

I'm of the belief that the cast and crew wish to remain anonymous so as not to be attached to Watsuki. My fear is that when this does come out on home video, AoA is going to out them in the credits.

I don't want to make any assumptions, but after seeing what's happening with Bleach's English regarding Yoruichi I think that U.S. anime fans, and voice acting/dubbing fans in general, can get even more critical and vocal than those from other countries when it comes to VAs and recasts, and I'm from Spanish-speaking Latin America where there was an uproar when The Simpsons voice cast was completely changed in Season 16 and also when they changed the voice casts in Saint Seiya The Hades Saga and Dragon Ball Z Kai.

I can understand the voice actors probably don't want to be associated with Watsuki, but to be fair an anime is different from a manga in the way that there's more people involved in its creation, they're just doing their job, I think it's bad to harrass them for that. At least here in Latin America I haven't seen anyone attacking the VAs for being in the project, there were just a few criticism about their acting since it's a completely new cast for the Spanish version, but I think they're doing a good jon, I don't think voicing a character in the new Rurouni Kenshin automatically means you're forgiving Watsuki's actions.

Because this is a union production, they might be forced to. Skimming through the dubbing contract, Bang Zoom would have to get permission from SAG to not list the actors if their company gets credited for the production. Given the circumstances, it's also possible SAG approves any request to do that.

No, actors can choose to remain uncredited. Bastard's two season run so far hasn't credited its lead actor, despite being a Netflix (and therefor union) production.

Aside from the very first ep., I missed the boat on Rurouni Kenshin growing up. As much as I like the idea of the story and appreciate how impactful the series has been for so many people, and as much as I want to explore it with this new anime, I don't think I can bring myself to it.

It's one thing to try to separate the work from the artist when there is some measure of uncertainty or gray area where discussion can take place, or if the controversial party has since passed, but knowing Watsuki is a literal convicted pedophile and can/does still profit from this work kills any enjoyment I might otherwise find.

I don't begrudge anyone who loved/loves this series; honestly, it sounds great This is something I've had to come to terms with as an individual.

I think it's really just a vocal minority of people at the end of the day. Rurouni Kenshin is doing pretty well in the rankings on various websites so people have zero issues with watching it it would seem. The fact it's even getting a dub at all would indicate to me it's successful enough to warrant making one. It is rather unfortunate that they have to hide the VAs or the VAs felt the need to not claim credit because certain individuals on social media might try to use that against them, but I still stand by the notion it's just a handful of troublemakers and not any kind of majority opinion on the show or actors.
