I'm actually surprised they didn't announce Ichinose Family's Deadly Sins. Also, is I Wanna Do Bad Things with You the best Shonen Sunday romcom they could have licensed, when Shiroyama to Mita and Mikadono Sisters were right there?
I'm very glad they got You and I Are Polar Opposites and not listing it under Shojo Beat, because I like the covers, and Shojo Beat covers are a mixed bag.
Viz actually managed to get something not from the parent company, but it feels like they were playing it safe with Battle Royale.
Good to know that Haikyu is appreciated with a 3-in-1 omnibus.

I'm looking forward to the Twisted Wonderland novels! I bought the first one in Japanese, but I'll gladly buy it in English as well.

Hell yeah, Cipher Academy physicals. Polar Opposites is a great choice too; I wonder if it'll include the occasional splashes of color. Now I just need Witch Watch.

Their announcement tweet says it's a digital exclusive.

Cipher Academy debuted in the same batch, but Ichinose has been doing better (at least in Japan) so I assume they're doing physicals for it which would probably take a bit longer to come out.

I can imagine that, but it seems so strange that in the year 2023, there were no newly licensed manga from WSJ magazine, and not counting spin-offs of course.

Wow, hardly any shojo or really joseimuke at all. I always want to put some shojo titles for request on Seven Seas survey, but I get worried they'll be blocked by Viz/Shojobeat. Maybe I should stop worrying with how they localize joseimuke titles, lol.

I'm always iffy towards Viz and their translations but I'm glad to see something of Shinzo's being published officially in English. I haven't read anything of his that I've disliked and his art is gorgeous. I'm sure that he'll get a lot of comparisons to Inio Asano but I don't think that would be fair since he's far better IMO. His stuff is some of the most human manga I've ever read, managing to be warm without feeling saccharine and never feeling needlessly cynical even when covering heavier or darker subject matter.

I'm in for the Haikyu!! 3-in-1s! Been hoping for awhile now that they'd get that sort of treatment. Hope Viz's quality with those is good these days...

Out of those three I Wanna Do Bad Things with You is my personal favorite. Shiroyama to Mita is more heavy on the comedy side than the romance side of the romcom category so I really wouldn't put them as being in any sort of competition. More Sunday licenses are always a good thing anyway. I wouldn't be surprised that Viz choose KimiWaru since it only has a few volumes out so far so it won't take long for the backlog to fill in for the Viz Media app, and they are probably looking for more content for it.
