animation issues might be fixed in the Blu-ray release but anyways the anime was disappointing sadly.

I can stomach a brainless power fantasy with barely any plot to speak of but good character designs didn't carry how much this production was barely holding itself together.
I guess the real money went to the designs and voice cast.

Is Shin Itagaki ever gonna be able to work on a series that doesn't fall apart in terms of production? I mean, the guy has proved he can do good work, look no further than Ben-to at David Production which had some pretty great action pieces. He just needs good staff to actually do his thing.
Though I guess considering how he's married to Millipeense's president, I don't think that will happen soon.

The only thing I disagree on in this review is that the rich girl saw Yuyaa before his transformation and did say she liked him even then because despite the fact he knew he was going to get a beating, he stepped up and tried to stop the creeps at the Bodega from bothering her

Have to agree here. The animation deserves every bit of criticism it gets, but the heiress character was at least a bit less shallow than the norm.
I also felt that a reasonable attempt was made to flesh Yuya out beyond just being an audience insert, as much of his skittishness is a clear product of his past social and emotional trauma. Most series with male inset characters either don't bother to justify it or give a more comical background.
Definitely not one of the highlights of the past season, but there were also definitely worse series last season. (Summoned to Another World for a Second Time, for instance.)

I don't know, maybe this says something about me, but I enjoyed it a lot because of the power fantasy aspects. Or maybe its fairer to say I appreciated it because it was honest about its fantasy fulfillment aspects. It was fun to watch the bad guys get beaten, the pretty girls get saved, and the cute pet sidekicks be cute. And sometimes that's all I want out of a show.

Millepensee strikes again. They did this to So I'm a Spider, which had more going on in the story department at least, while this could have been much more of a turn-off-your-brain romp if done competently. Not sure if they get over-ambitious and suffer for it elsewhere in the production, or maybe low bid themselves into oblivion, but it's getting to the point where I wonder why they are still allowed to make anime.

i don't think the compantice of the staff is issue and more to the shortages of the staff as it lacks enough people to finish episodes in the required time.

Which is pretty much what I'm saying. The fact that this has been a constant for Milipeense shows they do not have enough staff to properly make things.
