Huh, this seems interesting. I am curious to see more middle-grade aimed Japanese light novels, so I hope this works out for them! I'm especially interested in the phantom thief one.

These look cute!
Phantom Thief Red reminds me of Hatena Illusion.

I've read a few (they're great for learning Japanese), but unfortunately Kodansha's YA line (the ones with the blue borders) is better. The Kadokawa ones feel like they're aimed at kids who watch Yu Gi Oh and Detective Conan, while Kodansha's stuff is more like Sound Euphonium and Your Lie in April -- fun, but with some real drama wrapped inside.

This is cool, I always see these whenever I go to Kinokuniya but I can't read Japanese. I even follow a couple of artists on Twitter who have done illustrations for them before. Maybe I'll pick up one of them when they come out in English.

Nice choice, I especially wanted to read Horror Collector for a while.

Since they have this new imprint for younger readers now, I wonder if there'd be any interest from Yen Press in picking up the Higurashi When They Cry books from Futabasha Junior Bunko.
I've always been curious how those iterations of the story compared to the originals.
