Decisive Battle of this arc, or the series as a whole? If the latter, this smells like an axe. Unless it's going to be rebranded under a sequel title or something.

I quite liked the story telling done in the anime. It spoke of someone which really understood how to do character stakes. Even if it had some odd choices at times (IE it really likes massive death scenes). I hope it got to have the ending the series wanted to have, facing implications to the real world the alternative world has.

I guess that means no chance of a season 3 *sad*. I would of liked to see more but sadly the series didn't have many followers I suspect, good writing does not equal appealing to the masses.

The way it's written makes me believing that it is the series as a whole. The article doesn't mention the arc.

The thing is, ANN has history of mistaking end of an arc announcement and series end.

Does anyone actually follow the Japanese release of the manga and thus knows if it is the final arc?

I need to pick this back up again, I dropped it for some forgotten reason. The series is a breath of fresh air in certain ways.

The fan translation is fairly up to date, and it doesn't seem like the end of series yet, only the current arc that has been going for a year or so. Nothing suggest this arc is the end since they still introducing new characters and concepts/threats.

I do. The current arc is no different from the previous ones. The larger mysteries haven't even been mentioned, let alone approaching any kind of resolution.

To add to what Vaisaga wrote, the first chapter revealed there will be ten phases with a new character presumably joining the party each phase. The story is currently on the eighth phase. So there should be at least two more recruitment arcs before a final eleventh arc.

No way the series can end this soon unless it was axed. If it does, I guess that boost in sales from the anime didn't last.

It's literally just an editor note at the end of the chapter saying "さあ、最後の決戦始まる!"
It's obviously not meant to imply the end of the manga...
