Two corrections were made to the write-up: the murderer is pronounced dead, not locked up and the "someone" who fed the murderer information is changed to be more ambiguous instead of associated with Ai's agency.
We apologize for these errors. |

It's quoting from memory at a live premier at Anime Boston - it's still an amazing review despite the one or two things that needed correcting. Thank you again for the review and noting that it is a spoiler-filled review. |

I don't know how reliable this site is, but it claims only 44.5% of OB/GYNs in Japan were women in 2018. Even in the US, while the field is increasingly dominated by women, there's still a fair number of men in it. |

I was telling friends all weekend;
“For the first third? CONCERN. LOTS of CONCERN. When they reached 4 or 5? “Well, it’s not as weird now AND I’m invested” by the end of it I hated the fact I needed to wait longer for more.” |

I'm really looking forward to seeing more reactions from anime critics and commentators, especially ones who were (not unfairly, IMO) strongly critical of Mushoku Tensei. Oshi no Ko is definitely playing in the same space, and it's a space where a lot of players substitute "ha ha we know this cliche" for rising above the cliches, and yet I'd say Oshi no Ko's form of "self-awareness" about the awkwardness of its setup leads to doing much more interesting things. Especially because it has an actually interesting setting, and one where ambiguities of personal identity and image are pervasive, giving a good thematic connection to the premise. |

T'was a joke. I actually know OB-GYNs IRL
Because Japanese medical schools manipulated their entrance exam scores to pass more male applicants and fail more female applicants Japan medical schools 'rigged women's results'
