Disappointed to not see Polar Opposites win, and more surprised that Akane-banashi was two points shy of the winner. There seems to be no scans of Kore Kaite Shine anywhere at all really. Interesting.
It also seems like the judges really like Tatsuki Fujimoto, but they don't like him enough to give him this award. |

Kore Kaite Shine is pretty great, but since Minoru Toyoda's previous series (Kongouji-san was mendou kusai) was one of the best things I've ever read, it's hard to get as excited about. Just super experimental and playing with manga as a medium while also being really funny about it.
Both series need to be licensed, clearly. Stop being cowards, Viz. |

You and I are polar opposites and Akane-banashi are two manga I discovered recently and quite enjoyed reading so far. I didn't know the one on 1st place though. I'm kind of interested in it know because I remember picking up the first volume of Minoru Toyoda's Love Roma a lot time ago in japanese. He has a unique art style.

I'm a big manga weeb but never heard of Kore Kaite Shine. Will have to give it a read once I have some time. Am shocked Goodbye, Eri and Smokers behind a Super Market rated so low, as both would be some of my personal top mangas. Also shocked Summer hikaru Died rated so low, I am not into BL but I truly enjoyed it so far.
Wonder what the judges used to give these points. I do enjoy Akane as well, but I don't think I like it more than the ones mentioned earlier. |
