The announcement doesn't say anything about the anime as a whole continuing as normal from episode 4 onward, just episode 4 in particular dropping next week. Hope it doesn't end in a Isekai Ojisan or even a Railgun situation with a very inconsistent release.

Yeah, at this point I think the anime studios need to just adopt a model where they finish the show completely, and then release it weekly. sort of like a modified version of the Netflix model

It's like how a lot of western animated shows release, they usually wait till the season's complete to air episodes.
...buuut the networks that air western animation that aren't adult swim or fox will either spread it out a lot even though the series is finished or drop too much within the span of a few weeks (or just dumping everything onto their apps) leaving little to no room for long-term or weekly discussions. It's mainly cartoon network and nick who do that and not disney channel to my knowledge.
...though unlike anime most of the networks and studios here have bad security somehow, someone leaked the color keys for the amphibia series finale and sent it to fans in twitter dms to spoil people and piss them off, but the security of anime studios is surprisingly pretty good (all the anime leaks mainly just consist of anime adaptation announcements, delays, and what the main characters look like/are named in terms of precure. shonen jump manga's a different story), so if they decide to
start doing that I say they'd find a lot of success having everything made ahead of schedule.

That’s usually done to series the networks couldn’t care less about even if the show has a dedicated audience usually if the show is one whose life is tied to a toyline that’s typically a death knell.

Ew, I would personally rather wait 2 more months and then get one each week than get a new episode like every 3 weeks or so.
