*Sees GoHands* Really GoHands?! They actually found a new project after the Tokyo Babylon catastrophe from years earlier. I thought they would be put out of business because of that. This better be good.

I'm honestly interested just to see how Gohands style will work for a slice of life. Maybe we'll get some news on TB soon too

On one hand, maybe GoHands adapting a simple slice of life story is what they need so they don't go overboard with psychedelic cameras. On the other hand, just comparing the key image and the manga cover there's something that feels a little off about how the designs were adapted. The cat feels a bit menacing there...

Has anyone that works at GoHands ever been in an actual room before? The way they just randomly draw walls and doors and stairs with no regard to 3D physical reality is like their artists are secret Escher disciples. The architectural blasphemies they committed in Hand Shakers was clearly not a one-off.

I'm also surprised they are alive as, apparentlyv they were trying to sue produccers for cancelled Tokyo Babylon as about half of the show was already done. That's a lot of money.

But people seem top forget one of their biggest titles is Seitokai Yakuindomo, which is a SoL comedy.

GoHands is kind of random, but the cast and visual look great.

This is like watching the killer stand up in the background of a slasher film after supposedly being stabbed or falling out a window or something like that.

I cannot believe that anyone was desperate enough to give these (rightful) pariahs a second chance, and I cannot believe that this series will look like anything other than various degrees of butt.

This is going to make post-2008 GONZO shows look like MAPPA in comparison.

Nah, not really. Not when it was shown that most of GoHands's shows - not just that aborted Tokyo Babylon show, but going all the way back to K - featured multiple instances of plagiarized images. Their studio was built in part on intellectual theft and that is something that should not be forgotten or forgiven.

Also, it's not like this was a studio known for making any beloved works. Their shows were mediocre and forgettable at best and eye-searing, inane, and nausea-inducing at worst. They had no positive impact on the medium of anime. Anyone with a modicum of talent working there would be better off using those skills at any other company working in any other medium but anime.

Yeah, I was going to mention that. Like, GoHands doing an anime based on a SOL seems odd by today's standards but actually GoHands basically got their start adapting SOL adjacent stuff.

But it will be interesting to see if they get out of the bad habits they've adapted in more recent years.
EDIT: I just saw Seitokai Yakuindomo had a movie in 2021. I wonder what it looked like, it might give people an idea of what this could be like.

Might as well call this thread "The GoHands Should Just Go Crowd is Depressed Again Today".

Haven't seen it myself as I got bored with the jokes mid S2. But from the trailers it looked the same as before.

Interesting. Care to back it up with a source? Or was it revealed to you in a dream?

K Project, Mardock Scramble, Seitokai Yakuindomo franchise ring a bell? For what you just said, you can say for nearly half of all anime studios.

Googling "Gohands plagiarism" will show several results aside from Tokyo Babylon, no need to get all high and mighty

Some more examples: 1 2 3

Will this do?

The first image in the top tweet is Eiji Arashiba from Scar on the Praeter. The second top pic is Yashiro Isana from K: Seven Stories. The second bottom is Neko from K Project. The third is from the punted Tokyo Babylon. The fourth is Ran Washimine from Scar.

The image in the second tweet is Kazuma Arashiba from Scar.

Heh, you beat me to the punch, Polly. Very Happy
