Iunno. Tbh those stock-like responses this Mr. Hepburn made regarding all the crappy stuff I read in this article reminds me of the abusive bosses I had in the past. It's about looking good in the public eye, not making good with employees. This is speculation, but since he skipped the last payment deadline, I bet he is trying to figure out every way to not pay his staff and bounce the industry. Reading this article gives me the impression of a dismissive person who uses gaslighting and manipulation as his sword and shield in life. I feel immense pity for workers who have to slave away and then dedicate personal time to pursue a delinquent employer for what is a bare minimum for human decency. However we live in a system which rewards employers who channel corporate greed, and marginalizes penalties for violating worker rights. I hope I am wrong in these thoughts and this is resolved in a way which makes everyone happy, but I definitely feel Mr. Hepburne should not be allowed in a role which manages workers and people's lives, as comparing these two articles shows he is not capable of successfully managing people.

I'll drop a BRUH, too, Brendo Buddy, and add my testimony. I wasn't involved with the original article because I hoped that Chris Hepburn would pay what was due. I am no longer operating under those assumptions and have emailed him to forgive the debt because he clearly has no intention of paying anyway. In late December, I offered to settle the $5,286.00 that Chris Hepburn owed me if he paid only 3.5k by the end of January, and he seemed insulted that I even offered. He emailed again at the end of January, asking if I would extend the offer to February. He offered a $500 payment as a "show of good faith." I accepted, but when I asked where the $500 was a few days later, he said he couldn't pay that after all. This is a recurring problem with Chris Hepburn: he overpromises and under-delivers. Remember that these are all debts dating back to January 2022. Now, here we are at the end of February. I had been waiting to hear from him all month, so I emailed to ask if we were still on for the settlement... Surprise, surprise. He can't do it anymore. I wish I knew where the money that a certain big-box company paid this man went because I sure don't have a clue. I don't think he does, either. He has ignored demand letters, lawyer involvement, and the whole nine yards. It just angers me to see my name in the credits of these titles, knowing that I was never compensated for my hard work, knowing that I sacrificed time with my family and my friends. So many missed opportunities to break my back working on something I would never receive compensation for. My husband's family visited from the United States (I live in Europe), and I had to stay home and work while they were out making memories... I will keep my identity anonymous, but he will know who this is. My associates might know, too, if they pop into this thread. I am writing this as a form of catharsis, knowing that no one else will see this message. This man is simply walking away from a great deal of debt and is getting away with it. I cannot afford to fly to the US to take him to small claims court, so I have no recourse but to walk away and no longer bank on money that will never come. I want to shout into the void that Chris Hepburn's immaturity, irresponsibility, and flagrant disregard for other people's wellbeing will surely repay him later in life. Thanks for reading. I'm letting go now. If there is one thing I have learned from this, it is to prioritize myself over my work. I am no longer so shy about asking for extensions on my deadlines if I need them. I would like to stress that this post comes from a series of cascading circumstances, an irrevocably toxic working environment, and months upon months of financial abuse and gaslighting. For the record, I consider myself a professional and would never air dirty laundry over something minor. Please know that this post comes from a place of desperation resulting from lies, broken promises, and betrayed expectations born of a broken relationship that lasted more than three years. This is not indicative of my typical professional comportment. |
