Welcome back, Jackie! Bummed that we didn't get to hear your reaction to the ending of Made in Abyss, but happy to hear your reaction to Akiba Maid War.

Can't say that I appreciate the front page episode spoiler. I come hear for news not to read opinion pieces or reviews but that spoiler in the title killed any chance of me being surprised in the episode. Like wasn't she dead on a train...

This was Lynzee's response when I brought this up in the last thread:

I avoid trying to put exactly what happens or including context to give stuff away, but then it's people mad about a screencap which, if you have no context for the scene what does that screencap tell you, exactly? That some kind of monster shows up in Chainsaw Man? What does the text tell you? That Denji got into some kind of sexy situation with a character, a reference to last week's episode, and that the characters are facing a threat.
Every week I have to pick a screenshot that makes people interested and combine it with text that's both informative as to the topics discussed and clever enough not to let the entire cat out of the bag but it's a losing game most of the time. I try just not to be a complete ass about it but the picture and text combo is about as close as I'll go to "spoilers" and it'll still make people grouchy. |
I will say that any reference to Makima is probably a bigger deal this week based on the events of last week.

I can't help but watch CSM right as it airs, so this doesn't affect me, but this title does seem a fair bit more spoiler-y than usual---a pretty big dramatic reveal for the show, even if not hard to guess ahead of time.

Yeah, if anything, the EDs have been dropping lots of spoiler-y hints almost every week.

Eh, it was obvious Makima must be terrifying from first episode, even Power was scared of her, and I can't imagine Makima's survival was a surprise to anyone actually paying attention, it was obvious setup for showing us how badass she is next episode. Unless we are talking about some other spoiler I haven't noticed in the title.

No, I think we're all talking about the same one.

Believe me, this is not the last time you'll be amazed/shocked with Makima.
Edit: Added spoiler tags. Errinundra.

Makima doesn't actually say that the food is "to die for." The line was "Tokyo wa oishii omise ga takusan aru no ni," which just means "there are a lot of good restaurants in Tokyo." I guess it was just the translator trying to be clever, but in this case it resulted in people ascribing deeper meanings that aren't there.
