It’s way too early to make that statement. Hell, everyone liked IBO 4 episodes in. Still, it’s definitely a good start. That is enough to keep people on board (and make me wonder when if ever a dub is happening).

I'm desperately hoping it's going to be. I've yet to watch an alternate universe Gundam I genuinely loved (I liked G Gundam, but even that got a bit meh after a while, and also I liked it it wasn't that much of my cup of tea - that particular itch of mine was scratched tons better by Aquarion). It's not because I'm a UC purist or whatever, it's just that every non-UC Gundam show I've seen wasn't something I would have loved anyway, whether it aws Gundam or not. It was either "eehh" from the start or turned into "eehh" midway. IBO started out decent but then Okada Mari decided to do her thing.
So yes, I'm really hopeing WFM is going to be the one. I'm really enjoying it so far, save for a few gripes, and since there's no Okada Mari on the horizon, nor anyone else I feel I should be wary of, I'm very cautiously optimistic.

Gotta say it surprised me how violent was Prologue and how calmer is the main story. My guess is that the Prologue is a reminder that the tv series will get really violent but they want to take their time. Maybe it will take a cour for that? Also, I really dig the opening theme from YAOSOBI. It really reminds to they amazing work with Beastars.

God no.
I feel like the only person who dislikes this show.
So far it’s been terrible. Stupid premise and annoying characters. If I wanted to watch a battle high school anime, I’d watch the millions that already exist. I don’t and it’s a shame the prologue was very good and gave the wrong impression.
IBO is probably the best AU Gundam. Seed probably my personal favorite.

The show is perfectly enjoyable, but it is 4 episodes in and way way too early to make this kind of column.
I remember IBO was adored at first too.

I mean, there is IBO and G, and I imagine Wing still has its supporters. It's certainly captured the imagination like nothing else has in a while.
And while I know now that this is all intentionally Utena references, I still think the punch that launched that kid's soul to eeby deeby should be called the Chuchu Rocket.

You aren't the only person. I don't either. I'm just not going to complain that its a "bad show" just because I personally bounced off of it. Nor am I going to continue watching something I bounce off of. I'm certainly not going to continue to view it solely to voice my negativity on it.
It's a well made show. I'm not very interested in it, but I can see why people would be. Any "Best of/Worst of" claims are extremely premature, but it seems to have a decent starting point.

Yeah, let's get off the hype of this series please, and let it finish first, cause it's nothing mind blowing yet, with a lot of the story being pretty predictable. I'm amazed what people cling to. IBO was great.... at first too. I think this series will end up being pretty standard. Personally I find Suletta infuriating to the point it puts a damper on the story. When she's not around the story is much better.
For it go go up again Turn A Gundam and others that have left such a massive impact, I don't see it yet. Been baited far to many times with alternate series and they just end being run of the mill.

Of course, no one dares seem to want to ask the question whether it can be better than the original UC Gundam series. It certainly can in my eyes. It's already more feminist than 90% of Yoshiyuki Tomino's output.

I'm just sad we didn't get the show that would naturally follow from the prologue. I pretty much swore off the entire mech genre a few year ago, but the prologue actually made me care about about another mech show, just to have all my hope dashed by it being just another harem high school show.
I will say, I'm sick and tired of the "the military is using a civilian technology for evil military purpose" and consider that the to be a telltale sign that the writer are hacks. Almost every advanced technology we use on a daily basis was either started by military or heavily supported in its early day by military, before transferring over to civilian use.

I think the main difference is WFM is a lot of peoples first Gundam so they're going to imprint onto it a lore harder than any other new series that gets a Honeymoon phase with fans. Kind of like back in the day when Wing first aired on Toonami and exposed Gundam to a lot of Americans and it became kind of the standard people judged other series on.
(Mainly people saying everything before it looked dated and old and not worth watching)

They have to get the article in before Suletta and Miorine don't actually become a couple and they can't like the show anymore.
