Glad they're not waiting a year to drop the episodes.
But also, let this batch madness end and give us the weeklies going forward.

It still irks me that we didn't get the usual (at least since DiU) 39 episodes, though. Also, what a bittersweet experience was watching this anime by batches. I don't have any faith David Production is gonna treat a likely Steel Ball Run adaptation with the respect it deserves if they continue this dumbshit deal they have with Netflix, or if they at least keep the releases by batches model.
I've read somewhere that David Production only had the rights to adapt the first six Parts of JoJo but I can't find the source where I read it from and it was a long time ago, so I'd rather have the next Parts unadapted than doing what Netflix did with Stone Ocean.

Yeah there's no basis for that whatsoever, as well as no reason why a deal would even work like that. It's the same nonsense as when idiots crawled to social media to voice how they wanted a Part 6 adaptation, as though there was any doubt this multimillion dollar franchise was going to continue.

You really are out here spouting made up malarkey. A part 7 adaptation from them will be fantastic just like all the others have been. If the batch releases for Stone Ocean hurt you so much, simply wait for the whole show to be done and watch it like any other finished anime.

From where I'm reading, the only idiot here is you. Also, there's a lot of info about the deal from Netflix to push and produce anime worldwide. I think it's just a question of reading that info. Are you capable of that???

You're being a willful ignorant who apparently can't read well because I never said a Part 7 adaptation from David Production wouldn't be good. I know the anime would be fantastic partly because of DP as there were the Parts before 7; what I said was my problem with Part 6 is Netflix's bullshit binge-watching model.

How does Netflix have anything to do with the quality of a possible Part 7 adaptation or even Part 6 for the matter? The whole point of Netflix is that they are hands off with creations, and just provide assistance when necessary.

Why do you think DaviPro has any power to determine how Netflix releases the show? That's not at all how the Netflix deal works and we've heard from animation studios -and a lot of creators in general- that they've actually pleaded to Netflix to do the weekly releases to no avail. I specially remember back in the early days of Netflix's incursion into anime, I believe it was mentioned by someone at P.A. Works in regards to their anniversary project Kuromukuro, because the batch episode dump was really kneecapping their marketing and the series's momentum.
We've seen some move towards weekly releases with newer Netflix anime like Blue Period or Komi-san, I'm not sure why they decided to take this approach with a series like Jojo's that would've greatly benefitted from the hype in-between episodes, and has instead been largely overlooked thanks to the unceremonious dump model, but you can be sure DaviPro has nothing to do with that decision

I hope that if part 7 gets adapted, it makes its way onto CR. I'm still pissed that a show that at one point was widely available both streaming, home video and even TV, is now locked away on Netflix.

I had a feeling the batch would release around January or February because the final Blu-ray box containing these episodes releases in May 2023.
But hey, I'll take a month earlier any day. Let's hope for a brighter future with weekly episodes instead of these batch releases. Weekly episodes really get people far more excited.

This is my first Jojo experience and I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the second half.

At least it finishes this year. Now get the IP away from Netflix. The drop in production values and the bungled distribution proved catastrophic.

Why only now for Netflix USA to move towards weekly streams? Also, I don't know how long it has been the case, but Netflix Japan has been doing simulcasts for years.

First, I’m enjoying Stone Ocean intensely. Jolyene is one of my favorite leads, FF is one of my favorite JoJo characters period, and the Stand battles have all been entertaining. The voice acting and soundtrack have also been powerful.
Second, the binge model isn’t great for detailed discussion of each episode, but I’m sick to the teeth of people claiming it’s ruined the show. Stop exaggerating. The show itself is as good as any other JoJo part, if not better.
