Reg has no personal attachment to the village or anyone in it. Hell the only reason he tried to stop Faputa was cause Riko asked him to. While he’s not the only one who wasn’t there for Vueko’s story, he didn’t have the benefit of a giant snake's memory gas to fill him in. Of the three leads, he’s spent the least amount of time inside the village.

Faputa would need to do something extreme like kill Riko or Nanachi to drive him to try and murder her. Team Riko is quite amicable until one or more of their members comes to serious bodily harm. Despite knowing what 7chi went through prior, they didn’t actively try to kill Bondrewd until after he started slicing Reg up in his science chair.

In the final shot of 10 we see nothing but the whites of Reg’s eyes as Faputa is using two arms in tandem to choke slam him into the ground. He definitely appears to be out for the count, but even if he isn’t, the only point he was able to match Faputa during their fight was when he was powered up by Riko using Prushka. That's worn off.

So aside from the incinerator which as it was with Mitty would arguably be his only means of killing an immortal being like her, he’s no match for her without Riko and Prushka to power him up. Assuming if he were pushed that far, he could even hit her with it. He couldn't hit Bondrewd on his own when they fought for real and Faputa is significantly more agile.

Faputa – “You damn human child! How dare you turn that kind stone person… against… against Faputa!” By choosing to actively oppose her, Riko has painted a big target on herself.

Umm if I may... the thumbnail used for this post is a bit scary and because it's featured on the side column, I got a minor shock every time I come to the site...

I completely agree and it may sound a little dramatic but I really wish they would remove it. I've only seen one episode of Made In Abyss during the pandemic but it was enough for me to not watch. Every time I visit ANN, I'm bombarded with some strange image of this show.

Agree about the thumbnail image. Doesn't help that ANN recently had that nasty google ad that showed a (hopefully photoshopped) eye with all those holes in it (that would probably send anyone with Trypophobia in to a fit) to go with it.
